Overview

A Zephyrus grid with proper investments will far outshine its Omega Wind counterparts. Most burst setups will use a combination of Destiny Knuckles, Creepy Claws and Claíomh Solais Díon. Working around the 15 weapon skill requirement of Claíomh Solais Díon can be somewhat tricky at times however payoff is well worth the effort.

Transitioning to Zephyrus

Optimus grids are expensive and partial investment will often result in lower output than their fully-built Omega counterparts. Listed below are some important grid pieces and examples of grids to give you an idea of what may be required.

Necessary weapons to run certain setups. You may be able to run with fewer copies, but these are strongly recommended.

Weapon Copies Notes

Piercing Galewing
1 - 2
  • Provides unconditional 50,000 Supplemental DMG and general DMG cap.
  • If running Luchador, alongside Creepy Claws mainhand, only 1 Galewing is used in most cases.
  • 3x Galewings will nearly never be used since it will be incredibly difficult to fulfil Clam's 15 weapon skill requirement.

Claíomh Solais Díon
1 - 3
  • Commonly referred to as "Clams"
  • A unique weapon that provides 40% EX ATK, 25% DEF, and 7% Special DMG Cap per copy when 15 or more weapon skill types are active. See #Jade Valuables for information on how this skill is activated.
  • A third Clam should only considered for extra grids or for raids that require more durability.

Kaguya's Folding Fan
1 - 3
  • Provides up to 90% boost to OptimusWind's, Whirlwind's, and Ventosus's weapon skills.
  • Provides up to 30% Normal Attack Amplification.
  • Particularly potent for manual burst rotations or normal attack focused F.A. setups.
  • A third Fan can replace the second Clam in burst setups for more damage.

Destiny Knuckles
2
  • The core pieces to a majority of current Zephyrus grids due to its strong attack modifiers and enmity-enabling Bloodshed weapon skill.
  • Has three unique skills which is very useful in fulfilling Clam's 15 weapon skill requirement.

Creepy Claws
1

Halloween Limited

  • Used alongside Destiny Knuckles.
  • Provides up to 60,000 enmity-based supplemental damage.
  • Generally only used as a main weapon. It can serve as a situational replacement for Galewing if more raw damage is needed.

Spear of Renunciation
1*Only one is obtainable.
  • Used to introduce a unique Omega ATK modifier in the grid.
  • Typically used in any short fights and burst setups.

Spear of Repudiation
1*Only one is obtainable.

Other Useful Weapons

Weapons that provide a lot to a grid if you have them, but aren't as widely used or as high of a priority than others.

  • A decent HP gridpiece that also has a Stamina modifier when desired

  • Its Massive Normal modifier is less impactful compared to when it's used in Omega Wind due to the Normal modifier being diluted.

Theater of Temperance
1*Only one is obtainable.
  • One of Zephyrus's best extra party grid slots at 4★ and above due to its combination of EX ATK and boostable Majesty skill.
  • At 5★, also provides an extra 5% Damage Cap Up.
  • Shines most in V2 content where its 100% Sharp ATK Up (1 time)ATK is sharply boosted
    Strength: 100%Multiplier: AssassinDuration: 1 turn
    can be easily activated.
  • For HL content such as Siegfried or Super Ultimate Bahamut, Theater of Temperance is higher priority than Melody of Judgement.

Melody of Judgement
1*Only one is obtainable.
  • One of Zephyrus's best extra party grid slots at 4★ and above due to its combination of EX ATK and boostable Majesty skill.
  • At 5★, also provides an extra 5% Damage Cap Up.
  • Provides the same defensive utility as Draconic Rod, but is able to be used alongside a Dark Opus Weapon for more damage.
  • For Unite and Fight specifically, Melody of Judgement is higher priority than Theater of Temperance.

Ancient Nalakuvara
1
  • Strong Omega ATK modifier.
  • Can be useful to meet Apsaras Axe/Spear requirement.

Mandjet
1
  • Mainly for Axe mainhand purposes and filling at general Supplemental Damage if other options are lacking.
  • Recommended Weapon Awakening: Attack

Abu Simbel

Qinglong Spear Malus

  • A free source of 10% Damage Cap Up with a Massive Normal modifier weapon skill.
  • Less useful if a player has 2 Piercing Galewing

Indra's Edge

  • A farmable Garrison source that also comes with crit rate.
  • 2x Indra's Edge can be used with 1x Evanescence for content that wants the extra sustain.

These weapons are very high investment weapons that cost Gold Moon ×150. They are not recommended to be obtained until the player understands the value of their resources and what benefits they will gain from purchasing one.

Rhomphaia
Medium
  • Rhomphaia is a unique weapon in that it transforms your MC into a strong damage dealer however due to the way the weapon skill functions, it shines more in longer content where you are able to utilize the assassin modifier more frequently.
  • The weapon sees the most use in raids such as Siegfried (Raid) and Super Ultimate Bahamut. It is also likely to be used in Nightmare 150 and 200 setups in Unite and Fight.
  • Unlike weapons such as Ereshkigal, Hraesvelgr and Hrunting, Rhomphaia is not as central to Wind's burst rotations.
  • Note, the 15% ATK Up (1 time)ATK is boosted (1 time)
    Strength: 15%Multiplier: AssassinDuration: 1 turn
    buff from Rhomphaia will be consumed from summon calls that deal skill damage. i.e. Beelzebub.

Murcielago
Low
  • There is no substantial content that properly utilizes Murcielago at the moment due to the lack of strong Bow classes that would make spending 150 moons worth the investment.

These are some noteworthy summons that are used specifically in Wind setups outside of the standard Beelzebub, Belial, and Arcarum Summons.

Did you know...
Your Omega Dark Opus will provide more damage even if it is not boosted by your summons because of its strong unique Omega modifier. However, your HP will be much lower as a result.

Comments:

  • Niyon should be at least lvl 130. Lvl 150 is preferred. S1 and S2 can be used as needed.
  • Anila (Summer) brings a large amount of echoes and can be used especially with Tiamat (Summer). Can perform better than Niyon if you don't have any issues capping damage.
  • Vania (Yukata) brings a large amount of overcap to the team but no way to cap herself. Can be useful for lower defense content.
  • Grimnir (Valentine) is useful when a faster rotation is needed.
  • Ewiyar (Grand) can be used as a replacement if you do not own lvl 130+ Niyon or Summer Anila.
  • Main Summon Zephyrus and Support Summon Qilin can be used for longer rotations as listed above.

Spartan Burst

Spartan rotations are a strong alternative to Luchador setups. These rotations tend to require more buttons than Lucha to achieve a similar amount of damage. However the team composition tends to be more flexible since Korwa (Summer) is not a hard requirement. Most rotations are FA-able and require less grid support due to Spartan's strong buffing capabilities. Since  Tag TeamAll allies instantly perform a normal attack without using up a turn. is not used, refreshing occurs less often.

Unite and Fight Setups

Extreme+

EX+ setups are usually notated by the amount of buttons and charge attacks required to defeat the enemy. For example, a setup that requires 0 buttons and does 3 charge attacks will be notated as 0b3c. For advanced players, reducing the amount of charge attack chains will reduce the amount of lockout inflicted, therefore allowing time for more battles.

About Lockout

Lockout is the period of time where a player cannot use any skills or actions after pressing the attack button. This is notated by the "Waiting..." loading icon at the top left of the battle screen.

Typically the more charge attacks in one turn, the longer the waiting time is. This lockout period will carry over into the next raid if it is long enough.

For more detailed information, see the main article: Lockout.

A player's ping does not affect the duration of lockout time, but it does affect the player's refresh and menuing time, which subsequently affects if the player is able to see the lockout.

As an example, if it takes player a total of 10 seconds from hosting the raid to entering the next one, all setups that have 10 or less seconds of lockout will functionally perform the same.

0 Button Setups
Charge attack setups that do not click any skills often require the Shield of Eternal Splendor obtained from recruiting all of the eternals in combination with double Huanglong summons for charge attack based setups. Players with stronger grids and characters can opt for auto attack based 0b0c setups.

Occasionally, characters that provide charge bar to the party or start with 100% charge bar can replace Eternals in some setups.
