Titanic Yeager - Opening

The 57th expedition proceeds smoothly, but the team is suddenly attacked by a swarm of Titans. At the same time, Armin is left unhurt by the Female Titan which arouses his suspicions. He and Mikasa head quickly into the Titan Forest.

Among all the highly-trained soldiers, some of the best belong to the Survey Corps.
Commander Erwin Smith leads these troops from the center column of the long-distance enemy scouting formation to find the safest viable routes.
The 57th expedition had departed with little fanfare, a fact that hasn't sat well with Captain Levi.
Levi: It's too quiet.
Erwin: You've noticed it too. The red flares sent up by the right flank enemy scouts have gone silent for some time now.
Eren Yeager, the newest recruit to enter the Survey Corps, raises a question, his voice betraying the calm on his face.
Eren: Commander, red flares signal the discovery of a Titan.
Eren: I trained with members of the right flank scouting team. One of them is extremely smar—
Levi: Right flank, attention!
Eren: Huh?
Titan Flock: Aaaaa...
Corps Member 1: Waaah! Stop! Don't eat me! Gaaah!
Corps Member 2: Nooo! S-someone... Save—
Eren: (Armin, what are you doing? Why didn't you launch flares?)
Eren: (Don't tell me the right flank scouts were annihilated...)
A volley of discharges cracks through the air followed by trails of smoke streaming into the sky.
But not all of the smoke plumes are red.
Eren: Black flares... Are you kidding me? Now we've got abnormals to deal with?
Eren: What's happening to the right flank...
The Titan ambush throws the formation into disarray. Disadvantaged on open ground, even the elite soldiers struggle in vain as their lives are scattered to the wind.
And the only thing the rookie named Eren can do is watch dumbfounded as the bloodshed unfolds.
A Titan makes a grab for him.
Titan Flock: Aaaaa...
Eren: ...!
Levi: Hey! Concentrate! All you need to think about doing is following behind Erwin!
Eren: S-sir! Sorry, sir!
Erwin: Now! All units with me!
Although many have paid the price, their sacrifice allows Levi to secure an escape route.
Erwin seizes the brief respite to loose a green flare and steers the formation on a new course.
The flare arcs into the direction of a thick, lush forest.
This is the situation regarding the right flank enemy scouts just a few minutes earlier.
Among the sea of trampled bodies, new recruit Armin Arlert raises his arm to the sky.
Black smoke launches from his quivering hand, unwilling to succumb to the approaching terror that stalks his fragile frame.
Even if he were to be eaten then and there, his sense of duty to the Corps wills his arm to move.
But the originator of the sea of dead bodies seems to ignore his tiny act of defiance, peering instead at Armin's face.
Female Titan: ...
Armin: (Huff, huff... Why... Why isn't she attacking?)
Armin: (Hurry and end my life like you did to everyone else. What's so fun about toying with me like this?)
Female Titan: ...
Armin: (No, she isn't toying with me. She's scanning my face.)
Armin: (What does she want?)
Green flares rise into the sky, signaling a change in the formation's destination.
The Female Titan sees the green smoke and kicks off from the ground, leaving Armin behind to head in the direction of the flares.
Armin: What? I'm alive... Somehow.
Armin: Why didn't she eat me?
Armin: Does she have intelligence, more so than any other abnormal?
Worried about the well-being of her friend, recruit Mikasa Ackerman comes flying in to Armin's side.
Mikasa: Armin! Good, you're safe.
Armin: Mikasa!
Mikasa: Get on the horse. The formation is heading for the Titan Forest.
Having escaped the literal jaws of death, Armin rides behind Mikasa to the Titan Forest, where the rest of the expedition force is converging on.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 1: Chances and Consequences - Episode 1

Erwin leads the Survey Corps into the Titan Forest, where a trap subdues the Female Titan. In another part of the forest, Armin convinces Mikasa not to rush into battle and shares his theory that the Female Titan is also a human who can transform.

Erwin leads the main force of the Survey Corps into the Titan Forest.
However, riding toward the forest to facilitate easier escape from sudden Titan attacks would have been the safer bet from the outset.
Not even the veterans can figure out the commander's methodology.
Eren: Commander Erwin, where are we going?
Erwin: ...
Eren: Commander Erwin?
Levi: Shut up, recruit.
Eren: But what are we supposed to do when we don't even know what the operation is?
Levi: We believe.
Eren: That's all we have left to go on?
Levi: Look around you.
Eren's eyes dart from one experienced soldier to the next. Their faces stricken with confusion, a sickly pallor wrapped in silence.
Eren: Everyone's the same...
Levi: Yeah, you're not the only one who doesn't know anything. Except not a single one of them is whining like you are.
Levi: Do you know why?
Eren: No...
Levi: Because every soldier in the Survey Corps believes in the commander, including myself.
Levi: Whatever the outcome may be, we know that believing in Erwin gives us the highest chance of survival.
Levi: That's all we can do—put our faith in the commander and advance.
Eren: But I know I should've transformed into a Titan and fought—
Erwin: What do you see?
Eren: See?
Erwin: Who do you think the enemy is?
Eren: That's... That would be our natural enemies, the Titans!
Erwin: Not all enemies take action from the outside.
Eren: Sir... What do you mean by that?
Erwin: Levi, take care of matters here. I'll lead the main column ahead.
Eren: Wait, Commander Erwin! Sir!
Erwin quickly mounts his horse and disappears into the heart of the forest.
The rest of the soldiers spur their horses on, leaving behind Levi and the members of Eren's protection squad.
Eren: Captain? What was the commander talking about?
Levi: ...
Eren: Captain?
Levi doesn't answer.
After a long pause, he finally speaks.
Levi: I said to trust him.
Levi: But you want to fight, don't you? Then you're not wrong.
Eren: What?
Levi: Trust in yourself, or trust in us. The final choice is yours.
Eren: That's the opposite of what you just said.
Levi: I don't know the answer. I never have.
Levi: Whether you trust in your own strength, or trust in the choices made by reliable comrades, no one knows what the outcome will be.
Levi: So as much as you can, choose whatever you'll regret the least.
Eren: Easy for you to say, putting me on the spot like that...
Eren's Guard 1: Eren, trust us.
Eren's Guard 2: Won't you believe in us?
Eren: ...
Levi: Tch, there's no time! Choose now!
Eren: I'll trust everyone and keep going!
The Female Titan mercilessly chases after the soldiers, destroying anything and anyone in her path.
Brave soldiers willing to lay down their lives hurl themselves at the Titan to buy time.
Eren spurs his horse onward even as his comrades fall behind him one by one.
But even so the Female Titan has closed the gap between her prey.
Eren: It's no use. We can't get away. I'll have to do it.
Eren brings his hand up to his mouth and prepares to bite down.
Erwin: Fire!
Female Titan: Gaaaah!
Flash and volley, the stench of gunpowder wafting over an unimaginable sight.
The main column that had gone ahead with Erwin had set up special target restraining weapons.
The lone Titan stands contorted and tangled within a labyrinth of steel wires.
Levi: Listen up! I'm going to rendezvous with Erwin.
Levi: Take Eren and get him out of this forest.
Eren's Guard 2: Come on! Let's go, Eren!
Eren: Yeah, got it!
Eren's Guard 1: How do you like that, Eren? This is the power of the Survey Corps!
Eren: Amazing... This is the Survey Corps I've looked up to, the wings of freedom!
Armin: What's going on? We can't get in like this...
Mikasa and Armin had raced to the forest to meet up with the rest of the formation but have run into unforeseen circumstances.
A swathe of Titans straggle around the forest entrance.
Titan 1: Aaaaa...
Titan 2: Oooo...
Mikasa: I'll deal with them. Eren's waiting.
Mikasa readies herself to break through the Titan line, but Armin quickly stops her.
Armin: Stay calm, Mikasa! Eren's with Captain Levi and the others.
Mikasa: ...
Armin: Aren't we both still recruits? We're better off trusting the commander who's toed the line between life and death so many times before.
Mikasa: And what if this is the result of that trust?
Armin: ...
Mikasa: Death follows that man. At this rate Eren will...
Mikasa: Move, Armin. Let me through.
Armin: I can't let you do that.
Mikasa draws her blades with a look of cold indifference.
Mikasa: Please, Armin. I have to go to Eren.
But Armin stares right back at Mikasa, unwilling to withdraw.
Armin: That's fine. I just want you to listen.
Mikasa: ...
Armin: I haven't lived an especially long life, but there's one thing I'm sure of.
Armin: The people capable of changing things, are the ones who can throw away everything dear to them.
Armin: The commander is that kind of person! We need Eren to change the world, and for that, the commander will sacrifice everything to keep Eren safe!
Armin: What are we supposed to do if we can't trust in the ones who understand that the most?
Mikasa: ...
Mikasa's hardened expression loosens, and she quietly sheathes her blade.
That gesture is enough to allow Armin to breathe again.
Armin: Sigh... Thanks for trusting the commander.
Mikasa: No, not him. It's you, Armin, that I trust.
Armin: Huh?
Mikasa: Eren trusts you, so I do too.
Armin: Thanks, Mikasa.
Armin gives an awkward smile at best.
He senses something off about the behavior of the Titans lazing about before them.
Armin looks at the bodies of his fallen comrades, chewed up to various degrees.
Armin: (Titans murder people to eat them, but the Female Titan was different.)
Armin: (She crushed so many lives, but she never ate a single person.)
Armin: (She has a different motive for her destruction... The need to attack humanity itself.)
And that's when it hit Armin.
Armin: (That's it... That's it! She can transform into a Titan just like Eren!)
Armin: (But if that's true, then who's the real person inside?)

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 1: Chances and Consequences - Episode 2

The Female Titan lets out a scream which summons other Titans. They cannibalize her to the dismay of Erwin and the others. Far from Erwin and the Female Titan, Armin and Mikasa hear the cry and hurry to Eren's side.

Erwin and his team approach the Female Titan now snared within the Survey Corps trap.
Erwin: We sacrificed many of our own, but with this, humanity takes another step forward.
Levi quietly nods and readies his blade.
But the Female Titan moves before he does.
Female Titan: Yaaaaah!
The Female Titan's piercing wail echoes throughout every corner of the forest.
Levi: Damn... Wasn't expecting that.
Erwin: Wait. Something's not right.
Levi: What are you worried about?
Erwin: Those eyes...
Levi: What about them?
Erwin: They don't show any signs of giving up.
Levi: I hate your intuition. Nothing good ever comes of it.
Sensing an irregular trembling in the ground, Levi quickly assesses the situation.
Levi: They're coming! All personnel get ready to fight!
Titan Flock: Aaaaa...
A stream of Titans comes flooding in from all directions, their odd cries met by the howls of the Survey Corps's maneuvering gear.
But the Titans ignore the soldiers and rush toward a different target.
They descend upon the Female Titan, teeth gnashing on her flesh in a vicious free-for-all.
Levi: Cannibalism? Why did they turn on her?
Erwin: She got us.
Erwin: The enemy was prepared to give up everything. I never thought she would have the Titans eat her to erase all information.
Faced with no hope of escape, the Female Titan elected to destroy any evidence by destroying herself.
Erwin realizes that this unexpected turn of events will only lead to more casualties.
He quickly issues his orders.
Erwin: All troops, pull out!
Erwin: Load the injured onto the wagons and get back in formation! We're heading back!
Levi: Understood. I'm going to call my squad over.
Levi switches to vertical maneuvering.
Erwin: Wait, Levi. Replenish your gas and blades.
Levi: There's no time. And I have plenty already.
Erwin: That's an order. Follow it.
Levi: ...
Erwin: ...
Levi: You're usually right. I'm going to trust your judgment.
Meanwhile, the Titans that had been on the outskirts of the forest suddenly sprint into the trees.
Armin and Mikasa aren't sure what to make of it.
Armin: Did something happen?
Armin: They all rushed in as soon as they heard that scream...
Mikasa: But now we can go and find Eren.
Mikasa: Let's hurry, Armin. I have a bad feeling about this.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 1: Chances and Consequences - Episode 3

Levi's squad is attacked by a Titan who kills countless men and women. Eren watches the bloodshed and transforms to fight back. Erwin and his team attempt to retreat but encounter Armin and Mikasa. The two learn that there is a traitor amongst them.

The inhuman shriek reaches the ears of Eren's and his protection squad who had gone ahead of the main formation.
Eren: Did you hear that scream?
Eren's Guard 1: ...
Eren's Guard 2: ...
Eren: (It's no good. No one knows anything.)
Eren: (All we can do is wait for Captain Levi to get back with any information.)
At the same time, a shadowy figure approaches at full speed, expertly navigating the trees with their vertical maneuvering gear.
???: ...
Eren's Guard 2: Captain Levi's back!
The soldier leaps off a branch and goes to greet the figure.
Eren's Guard 2: Captain! What happened? What about the Female Ti—
Eren: No! That's not the captain! Don't tell me it's...
???: ...
Female Titan: Gaaaaa!
Eren's Guard 1: Damn it, she's after Eren! Protect him to the death!
Eren's Guard 1: Get him to the central column! I'll buy you some time! Take him and go!
Eren: I'll fight too!
Eren's Guard 1: What? Do you still doubt our abilities? Do you really have so little faith in us?
Eren: I... I believe my squad will fight well!
Eren's Guard 1: We still haven't thrown a welcome party for you yet. We're serving meat, so don't you go off to an early death, Eren!
Eren: (Is this really for the best?)
Eren: (If I could just... If I just transform into a Titan, no one else would have to die.)
Eren: ...!
Eren: (Is it because I'm afraid? I'm afraid of the outcome, and that's why I'm run—)
Eren's Guard 1: Ngh... Aaaugh!
Eren: Damn it... I made the wrong choice...
Eren: If only I had believed in myself from the very beginning and fought...
Eren: I'm going to beat that thing...
Eren: Beat it to a bloody pulp!
Eren: Graaaah!
Female Titan: ...!
Female Titan: ...!
Erwin, having ordered all nonessential wagons and supplies to be abandoned, leads the Survey Corps back out of the forest.
They keep a vigilant eye on the surrounding brush as their horses race for an exit.
Suddenly a horse facing the opposite direction speeds toward them.
Erwin: Hm? That's...
Armin: Commander Erwin!
Erwin: You recruits are...
Armin: Armin Arlert of the 104th Training Corps. This is our first operation as members of the Survey Corps.
Mikasa: Same as Armin. Mikasa Ackerman.
Erwin: I see. I'm glad to see you made it. This is a full retreat. You will take position in the rear guard.
Armin: Commander, if I may...
Erwin: Keep it short.
Armin: What did we gain from this operation, Commander?
Armin: I'm assuming it was to capture the Female Titan alive... Did we?
Erwin considers at length the unspoken meaning behind Armin's words.
Finally he answers cryptically in a similar vein.
Erwin: I ordered Levi to replenish his gas and blades. What does that tell you, Armin?
Armin: That the operation failed, and the Female Titan escaped...
Mikasa: Then where's Eren now?
Erwin: Levi's going after him.
Mikasa: ...
Armin: Wait, Mikasa! You can't!
Erwin: Let her go. But more importantly, Armin, why did you come to the conclusion that the operation failed?
Armin: Um... Because the Female Titan has the same power to transform, just like Eren.
Erwin: ...
Armin: I'm sure you've realized it too, Commander. There's a spy inside the walls—no, inside our military.
Armin: That's why we have to unmask whoever it is, otherwise all these sacrifices will be for nothing!
Erwin: Keep your voice down.
Armin: Sorry, sir.
Erwin: Armin Arlert. Once we arrive back at the district, I want you to come to my office. Do not let anyone see you.
Armin: What? Me?
Erwin: ...
Armin: Yes, sir! Understood, sir!

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 1: Chances and Consequences - Episode 4

Eren cannot hold a candle to the Female Titan's fighting ability. She subdues him and takes his human body hostage. Levi and Mikasa work together to take Eren back and succeed. The 57th expedition ends with many casualties and little to show for it.

The Female Titan's disciplined hand-to-hand combat skills easily handle the enraged Eren.
Eren realizes this too, completely pinned down by her fortitude.
Eren: Gaaaa!
Female Titan: ...!
Eren: ...!
With a swift strike, the Female Titan lops off the top of Eren's Titan head.
She then bites down on the nape of the neck, extracting Eren from his Titan body.
With Eren imprisoned inside her mouth, she takes off running.
Mikasa: Hold on, Eren. I'll slice up her body and drag you out of that filthy place!
Levi: Idiot. Back off for now. We'll maintain this distance.
Mikasa: This wouldn't have happened if you'd done a good job protecting Eren.
Mikasa: Get out of my way. I'll do it alone if I have to.
Levi: We'll focus on one objective only. Forget about offing her for now.
Mikasa: Is that some sick joke? How many of our comrades has she murdered?
Levi: It's impossible to put her down with just the two of us. But there is a way to rescue Eren.
Mikasa: ...?
Levi: I'll slash away at the Titan. You draw its attention.
Female Titan: Aaaaa!
Levi: I'm going in!
Levi whirls around the gigantic body like a cyclone, the blades in both of his hands carving through the flesh.
As expected the Female Titan unleashes a scream, releasing Eren from his captor.
Mikasa seizes the opportunity to dart forward and catch Eren before making a hasty getaway.
The two soldiers, having recovered their comrade, blast through the trees to rendezvous with Erwin without looking back.
Thus the 57th expedition returns home, short on personnel and with no success to show for it.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 2: Laughing Titan - Episode 1

The Grandcypher's tail breaks in the violent winds and they come to a crash. They attempt to find a village with the materials to fix the ship but to no avail. Rackam then notices a group of unfamiliar giants charging in for an attack.

In the skies high above, the Grandcypher struggles through a vicious wind while maintaining its course.
Despite the competence of their helmsman, Rackam, the situation they find themselves in is dire.
Vyrn: What's the deal, Rackam?
Lyria: The weather was so nice just a moment ago, but then it suddenly got all stormy...
Rackam: Can't really do much 'bout that. Even skyfarers avoid flying over Estioss.
Vyrn: Uh... Ess-tee-oss? What's that?
Rackam: A land where things seem fine on the ground, but everything above ain't as peachy. These storms can get as bad or worse than the Grim Basin.
Rackam: That's why no one really knows much about this place. Some call it the land of ill repute... cut off from the rest of civilization.
Lyria: The land of ill repute? That's scary...
  1. Sounds bad if we crash.

Choose: Sounds bad if we crash.
Rackam: Yeah, inhabited or not, I really don't want to find out what's down there. Better hope we stay afloat!
And without fail, the rudder in Rackam's hands shudders from a furious squall.
Rackam: Aw, crap. Are we screwed?
  1. Do you hear something weird?

Choose: Do you hear something weird?
Rackam: What are you talking about?
The tail of the airship can take no more. With a squeal of splintering wood and metal, it breaks off, sending the ship into a tailspin.
Rackam: Urgh, we're going down! Quick, grab on to something!
Vyrn: Wha? Whoooa!
Lyria: Aaaah!
Even with its tail missing, the Grandcypher comes to about as gentle a landing as Rackam's skills can muster.
Rackam: Oh, man. Made it by the skin of our teeth. But my poor baby...
Vyrn: So are we in big trouble?
Rackam: Well, we've got a backup tail somewhere, so it's probably not as bad as it seems.
Lyria: Really? Then let's get to work fixing up the Grandcypher!
Rackam: Before we do that, I want to find the nearest town and see if they have any tools and supplies.
Lyria: A nearby town... Hmm...
Lyria slowly spins around, scanning the open plains they're currently in with wide eyes.
Rackam spots something in the distance.
Rackam: Something's... coming.
Vyrn: Uh-oh. Is it a monster?
Rackam: No, I don't think so...
Lyria: What if it's a primal beast?
Rackam: Doesn't look like it either... Besides, you would've noticed it before I—
???: ...
Rackam: What the... What are those...
???: ...
Rackam: Quick, hide!
Lyria: What is it?
Vyrn: Gulp. It's like they're...
Rackam: Giants!
???: Aaaaa!

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 2: Laughing Titan - Episode 2

The giants that attack the crew do not stay dead, so (Captain) slows them down. The crew escape and find a girl named Annie who reveals the monsters are Titans. Mikasa and Levi appear, slay the Titans, and show (Captain) how to defeat them.

The passengers of the downed Grandcypher are under attack from strange creatures that continuously regenerate no matter how many times they are felled.
Vital points are struck, but that doesn't seem to faze the attackers at all.
Not only do they show no signs of stopping, they seem to have no sensitivity to pain.
Bizarre Horde: ...
Lyria: I'm scared, (Captain). What should we do?
Vyrn: Yeah, like, they just take whatever we throw at 'em!
Bizarre Horde: ...
Rackam: How would I know! I shoot and shoot but nothing happens!
  1. I've got an idea.

Choose: I've got an idea.
(Captain) releases a flurry of cuts on the legs of the creatures.
Bizarre Horde: Aaaaa...
The creatures are unable to support themselves and come crashing down to the ground.
Rackam: Nice one, (Captain)! Come on, now's our chance to hide out in the ship!
The crew scurries back inside.
But (Captain) remains on the plains, not moving an inch.
Lyria: What's wrong, (Captain)? You need to hurry and climb on board!
Lyria: Huh? There's somebody else out there.
A girl struggles to climb out from the fallen masses, her hand reaching out for anything.
(Captain) quickly runs over, picks her up, and runs back to the safety of the Grandcypher.
The rescued girl doesn't say a word of thanks, opting instead to eyeball the people surrounding her.
???: You came from outside, didn't you? I've never seen your faces before. Are you the new warriors?
Lyria: Um, warriors?
Vyrn: We're skyfarers... Kinda like warriors, but I guess not the ones you're talkin' about.
???: ...
Vyrn: Do you live around here?
Annie: Annie Leonhart, Military Police Brigade. I provide security for a nearby town.
Lyria: So there is a town nearby! Now we can fix up the Grandcypher!
Vyrn: All right, but what're you doing out here then?
Annie: I was out on a patrol when I saw you fall from the sky.
Annie: I hurried over but was attacked by Titans along the way. My vertical maneuvering gear was damaged too.
Lyria: Vertical what?
Annie: You don't know what that is? Who are you people?
  1. ...

Choose: ...
Annie: It's not like I have anything to hide. Everyone already knows about these things.
Annie: This equipment was developed to allow for three dimensional movement. They're our weapons against the Titans.
Vyrn: Titans... Is that what you call those things outside?
Annie: An interrogation isn't really fair, don't you think?
  1. Fill her in, Lyria.

Choose: Fill her in, Lyria.
Lyria: We came from a faraway place on our airship. We're from the sky.
Annie: The sky?
Vyrn: Hey, we answered a question. Now it's our turn to ask another. What are those Titan thingies?
Annie: They're the ones who have pushed humanity into being locked within the walls of this land.
Lyria: What do you mean by humanity and walls?
Annie: Questions, questions, questions... Freaking annoying. This is no way to have a conversation.
Rackam: You can't be serious. Those things are already back on their feet!
Rackam: You gotta do something, (Captain), before they tear the ship apart!
  1. I'm on it!

Choose: I'm on it!
All crew members scramble onto the deck.
(Captain) and the others leap into battle against the swarming Titans.
But their attacks are still ineffective. Worse yet, it has become more difficult to aim for the legs as (Captain) had done before.
Rackam: Urrgh! Eat this!
Titan Flock: Aaaaa...
Rackam: Tch, nothing! How are we gonna beat these things?
Rackam: Oh no... The ship can't take much more of this!
Titan Flock: Aaaaa...
Rackam: Who are you?
Levi: Hey. Cover me.
Mikasa: Understood. I'll distract the Titans.
The two soldiers who appeared out of nowhere work in perfect tandem to bring down the Titans.
Utilizing their vertical maneuvering gear to the fullest extent, they slice through the enemies.
Rackam: I've never seen that kind of fighting before. How do they know what to cut?
Rackam: Not the head, not the torso, stomach, or legs... Looks like they're going for...
Rackam: The back of the neck!
Rackam: None of this makes sense, but I'm not gonna be in anyone's debt!
Rackam: (Captain), show 'em what skyfarers are made of!

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 2: Laughing Titan - Episode 3

The Titans are defeated and the crew is taken into the custody of the Survey Corps. Armin explains why they are being held captive. Armin's task is to keep watch over the crew while simultaneously trying to discover the traitor among his team.

(Captain) and company finally grasp what needs to be done after watching Mikasa and Levi.
Rackam: Hah. So cutting out their napes finishes 'em off for good!
Erwin: All of you, this way!
Erwin shouts out to the crew, urging them to fall in with his formation.
Lyria: But we can't just leave the Grandcypher here. We'll be lost if the Titans destroy it!
Erwin: It'll be safe as long as none of you are near it.
Erwin: They're only drawn to humans! Hurry! Come back with us to the district before any more of them show up!
The crew obeys, mounting the horses of the other soldiers.
And with that, they ride away in formation with the Survey Corps.
All except for one—the girl who was with them just moments earlier but has now slipped away unnoticed.
The crew pass through the gates of a giant wall and are taken to lodgings provided by the Survey Corps.
But the crew is not so naive as to not recognize that this is akin to house arrest.
Vyrn: Look, we wanna thank you guys for giving us a place to sleep and all...
Vyrn: But it's all just so you can watch us, right?
Mikasa: Good observation, Mr. Talking Lizard.
Vyrn: Hey, I ain't no lizard! I have a name, and it's Vyrn!
Armin: Come now, you two...
Armin: I know you probably can't trust us just because I tell you to, but we do want you to feel safe.
Vyrn: Safe, huh? How can we feel safe when you guys are carrying weapons and watching us day and night?
Armin: You've got it backwards. We're keeping you here for your own protection.
Lyria: What do you mean?
Armin: He's not here right now, but a good friend of ours is currently in a similar situation as you all are.
Armin: His name is Eren, and he has the power to transform into a Titan.
Lyria: What! There's someone who can do that?
Vyrn: Freaky. Is that... a good thing?
Armin: Hah, you react like everyone else.
Armin: The aristocrats are especially terrified of Eren.
Armin: They wanted to run as many experiments as they can before executing him.
Lyria: That's awful...
Armin: But Commander Erwin and Captain Levi put a stop to that.
Armin: And again those two made the best judgment they could to protect all of you.
Armin: The people within these walls are fearful of the mere existence of outsiders. We don't want it to turn ugly.
Armin: I think your young captain understands what I'm saying.
  1. Loud and clear.

Choose: Loud and clear.
Lyria: I see your point. Thank you for helping us.
Vyrn: Hehe, that's what you meant. Why didn't you just say so in the first place.
Their anxieties dispelled, the crew members finally manage to smile.
But the mood is undone by a snide comment.
Annie: Not like it's going to get any better next time.
Annie: We bet everything on Eren and got back nothing but pointless deaths. Not even Commander Erwin can recover from this.
Armin: I disagree. Right now the commander's negotiating for Eren's quick release. You'll see.
Annie: Yeah, we'll see.
Mikasa: And why is a member of the MPB here among the Survey Corps?
Annie: Wouldn't you like to know.
Mikasa: We have things to do. Stop bugging us and leave.
Annie: I'd love to, but I've got business here too.
Mikasa: What do you mean?
Annie: Can't say... But clearly the higher-ups don't trust you as much as you think.
Mikasa: ...
Lyria: W-wait a second please! It's not nice to fight!
Vyrn: Yeah, chill out. What's with all the crazy girls around here?
Tensions between Mikasa and Annie threaten to boil over, but Lyria and Vyrn somehow manage to defuse the situation.
Armin, however, doesn't feel more at ease.
Armin: (I wonder if things really are going to be okay...)
A few days have passed since the Survey Corps returned from the 57th expedition in defeat.
Armin meets with Commander Erwin and together they leave the confines of the wall.
The suddenness of being summoned leaves Armin with little time to question the commander's motives.
Armin: Is it safe to ride beyond the wall by ourselves? Nothing good will come of running into a Titan.
Erwin: We'll be fine. Not many Titans are known to be active during the night.
Armin: But why even take that small risk?
Erwin: That is our objective.
They see a large shadow on the ground—the shadow of the Grandcypher.
Erwin has come to a conclusion after an extensive investigation of the airship.
Erwin: Without a doubt, those people came from somewhere ever farther than the extents of this land. The sky realm.
Armin: Sky... realm? I'm not entirely sure I understand. You're saying the sky, as in—
Erwin: I'd read it in a book once. There seems to be a world in the sky beyond the walls with a vastness we could never dream of.
Erwin: I would guess that they are inhabitants of that world.
Erwin: The balance of our world is likely to crumble from the knowledge and power they possess.
Armin: What is that power?
Erwin: Armin, I'm handing you a critical mission. Watch their movements within the walls without drawing suspicion.
Armin: Yes, sir, if those are my orders.
Armin: But why me? Wouldn't someone more seasoned be more suitable for this mission, like Captain Levi, or—
Erwin: You're the only one that can carry out this mission.
Armin: Huh?
Erwin: You were the only one who realized the true purpose behind the previous operation.
Erwin: That's why it falls to you. Deceive them, expose the spy, and discover the true identity of the Female Titan.
Armin: ...!
Erwin: Yes, that is the crux of this secret operation.
Armin: Yes, sir. I will carry out my duties!
Erwin: Good. Dismissed.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 2: Laughing Titan - Episode 4

Annie casts suspicious glances at Armin who takes the spotlight off himself by asking the crew about the sky realm. Armin listens intently, while Annie holds a cold attitude. Armin warns the crew not to share their story with others and they agree.

Annie: Armin...
Armin? Is there something on my face?
Armin: Huh? Uh, no... Just thinking...
Annie: ...
Armin: Actually, there's something I've been meaning to ask you all. Where exactly did you come from?
Lyria: Us? From way across the sky, I guess.
Armin: Does that mean from outside of the wall?
Lyria: Even farther than that.
Armin: How far do you mean?
Lyria: Far beyond the skies and...
Armin: Wait a minute! Are you saying this land is surrounded by the skies?
Lyria: Indeed! The sky realm is really vast!
Armin: I... never would've imagined that. I'd like to see it.
Lyria and Vyrn recount the various aspects of their journey through the sky.
Everything from the War, primal beasts, and Astrals to the Erste Empire.
But as the conversation continues, it becomes harder to grasp for the people who know only of a world within the walls.
Annie is the only one among them who seems to be listening with a different attitude.
Annie: I find this hard to believe. Kids tend to run their mouths when they're trying to get something out of adults.
Lyria: But we're not lying.
Annie: What you're saying doesn't seem possible.
Annie: If it were, the Titans wouldn't stand a chance.
Armin picks up on Annie's peculiar choice of words.
Armin: Annie's probably right. It's hard to believe, but we should keep it between ourselves nonetheless.
Vyrn: Why's that?
Armin: I mentioned this before.
Armin: If the townspeople hear it, it'll cause a panic. If the aristocrats hear it, you'll be labeled as dangerous, like they did to Eren.
  1. We can't cause these guys any trouble.

Choose: We can't cause these guys any trouble.
Lyria: Oh no... Okay, we'll keep it a secret.
Armin: Yeah, that'd help us out a lot.
(Captain) and the others promise not to talk about anything related to the sky realm without permission.
Armin feels relieved by that promise.
Amid the lightened mood, no one has noticed Annie's piercing stare.
She's clearly in a heightened state of alertness, assessing every detail of the crew.
Annie: ...

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 3: The Walled Country - Episode 1

(Captain) asks to use the vertical maneuvering gear. Although Armin is against the idea, Eren decides to teach the crew anyway. Eren laughs at how terribly (Captain) uses the gear, while Mikasa and Armin remind him that he was the exact same way.

The crew members find that they have too much time on their hands from having nothing to do. (Captain) suddenly blurts out something in the middle of a conversation.
  1. I wanna try the vertical maneuvering gear.

Choose: I wanna try the vertical maneuvering gear.
Armin is startled by the request.
Armin: Sorry, but I've already explained it to you before. You can't go outside right now.
Armin: And using the vertical maneuvering gear would be exactly like painting a target on your back.
Vyrn: Just when I was thinking we'd finally be able to leave... Are we really stuck here?
Gran is the Main Character

Lyria: We can't cause trouble, Vyrn. I really wanted to see him fly though...

Djeeta is the Main Character

Lyria: We can't cause trouble, Vyrn. I really wanted to see her fly though...

Someone's Voice: Shouldn't be a problem if it's just the vertical maneuvering gear.
Everyone swivels their heads toward the voice.
They see Eren leaning against a wall as if he'd been there all along.
Eren: I'm back.
Mikasa: Eren! Are you okay? They didn't do anything to you, did they?
Eren: No, I'm fine. Just had a nice stay in a jail cell. Nothing else.
Armin: How did you get out? Did the higher-ups come to their senses?
Eren: Honestly I don't really know, but at least we can all be back together again...
Mikasa: That's great, Eren...
Eren: Now enough about me. What about these guys?
Lyria: Huh?
Vyrn: You mean us?
Eren: You want to try vertical maneuvering, right? I'll show you how it's done.
Lyria: Um, are you sure it's okay?
Vyrn: Aren't we gonna get you in trouble if we go into town?
Eren: Then we just won't fly around town. Is that good enough, Armin?
Armin: Well... We'll have a big problem on our hands if anything happens...
Eren: What could happen?
Armin: Like... an injury, or if they make a run for it...
Eren: Nothing's going to happen as long as we're there to stop it. Besides, they're not planning on running away, right?
  1. Of course we won't run.
  2. Can we play tag?

Choose: Of course we won't run.
Lyria: We don't need to run away since you've all been so nice to us.
Eren: Then let's get down to business.

Choose: Can we play tag?
Lyria: Wow! Flying tag sounds like so much fun!
Eren: Sounds like you do have delusions of escape on your mind.
Eren: You really shouldn't be kidding around right now.
Continue 2
Eren: My body's out of shape from being locked up all the time. Come on, let's get out there!
Armin and the others have no choice but to go along with Eren's unwavering decision.
(Captain) and the crew leave their lodgings and arrive at a small forest outside the walls.
Mikasa: Why is Annie here too?
Annie: ...
Armin: Well, she helped us slip past the MPB.
Mikasa: ...
Eren: Forget about it. I'm going to start the lesson now!
  1. I'm all ears!

Choose: I'm all ears!
The soldiers ready their own gear to teach by example.
Eren: Watch closely, (Captain). You have to find the balance in your hips, like this...
Mikasa: No, (Captain). Fire the anchors and make sure they get a good hold.
Armin: Just a bit more, (Captain)! Match the timing of the trigger pull! There's a gas recoil after you fire!
(Captain): ...
(Captain): ...
Armin: Whoa...
Eren: Hahaha! What the heck? I've never seen someone suck that much before.
Mikasa: Eren, we were all like that at first. In fact, I seem to remember a certain someone who did the exact same during training.
Eren: Urk...
Armin: Mikasa's right. You're the last person that should be laughing.
Eren: What, was I really like that? Nah, there's no way I was this bad—
(Captain): ...
Eren: Fine, I'll stake my pride on it!
Eren: (Captain), don't think! Just do what I do!
Mikasa: Wait, Eren! Don't overdo it!
Eren and (Captain) fly deeper into the forest.
Mikasa lets out a loud sigh and, with a blast of gas from her gear, takes off after them.
Annie: Bunch of noisy brats, aren't they? I wish I could be that optimistic.
Armin: Yeah, but I see it differently.
Annie: Hm?
Armin: A lot of people died protecting him, and a lot more will probably die in the future.
Armin: He's the one that feels the most pain, but he can't let it show or else it'll worry others.
Armin: That's why he's acting the way he is.
Annie: Hmm... Is that so...
Armin: Huh?
Annie: What?
Armin: Is something wrong with your gear?
Annie: Why are you asking about that?
Armin: Because the maneuvering gear you were using is pretty old, but that one is new...
Annie: Is there a point you're trying to make?
Armin: You don't have to hide it.
Annie: Hide what?
Armin: I heard from Lyria that your old gear was destroyed when you saved them from the Titans.
Annie: ...!
Armin: Of course the new one is going to have kinks that you'll have to get used to. Just be careful out there.
Annie: Yeah, true. Thanks for the warning.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 3: The Walled Country - Episode 2

At the Survey Corps headquarters, Erwin and Levi are discussing matters concerning Eren and the crew. Through their conversation, Levi understands why he was summoned to the captain's office.

Back at the Survey Corps headquarters, Erwin and Levi are having a meeting.
Levi: How did you manage to talk your way out of this one?
Erwin: What do you mean?
Levi: Don't play dumb with me. What did you do so that they'd forgive our disgraceful expedition?
Erwin: To put it simply, this country isn't completely lost yet.
Erwin: Luckily we still have those who worry about the future of the human race, ones who haven't become dogs of the Church or royal government.
Levi: Humph. Now you'll be in the pockets of Commander Pixis and Commander-in-Chief Zackly...
Erwin: Haha...
Levi: If it's any consolation, the royal government only wants results. What are you going to give them?
Levi: If you don't have a plan, it'll only be a matter of time before we have to hand over Eren and the Survey Corps is disbanded.
Erwin: Things are already in motion.
Erwin elaborates no further.
Neither does Levi question Erwin any longer.
There's only one thing left to say.
Levi: Understood. I'll trust in your judgment.
Given their history, that is enough to bring about a mutual understanding through unspoken words.
But then Levi suddenly switches topic.
Levi: By the way, who are those people?
Clearly Levi is referring to (Captain) and the crew.
Erwin: A threat to humanity but also hope.
Levi: Now where have I heard that before...
Erwin: Something to the effect of Eren. No, perhaps even more than him.
Levi: That's not something I'm ready to believe. But if that's why you called me here today, then I can make an exception.
Erwin: ...
Levi: This all reeks of a bad joke, but you aren't the sort of man to do that.
Levi: Very well. If they get out of hand like Eren, then I'll lay my life on the line to put them down.
Levi: Satisfied, Erwin?
Erwin: Yes, that'll do.
Erwin and Levi, two people who have overcome death at every step.
Their experiences have forged a genuine bond of trust.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 3: The Walled Country - Episode 3

Through Eren's guidance, (Captain) learns to use the vertical maneuvering gear. Lyria sees the large wall surrounding the city and shares a story of sorrow. Surprisingly, Annie listens intently to her tale.

Following Eren's special method of training, (Captain) is able to control the vertical maneuvering gear.
The crew takes a short break after working up a good sweat.
Vyrn: Phew, that's a nice breeze.
Vyrn: Hehe, but that's quite a wall you guys got there. I've never seen anything like it.
Eren: Obviously. Those walls have kept us safe from Titan incursions for a hundred years.
Lyria: ...
Armin: What is it, Lyria? You seem down...
Lyria: It's... the wall. It scares me.
Eren: Scares you? How can you be afraid of a wall that's meant for protection?
Mikasa: Be quiet, Eren. Let her talk.
Lyria: Sorry, I mean... It reminds me of something from long ago...
Mikasa: What happened back then?
Lyria: I was captured by the empire, and they wouldn't let me go outside.
Eren: So they locked you up? Why'd they do that?
Lyria: Because I'm the same as you, Eren. They were afraid of the power inside me.
Eren: ...
Lyria: Oh, but I also met someone who cared about me, someone who fought to protect me.
Mikasa: Someone who fought for you...
Lyria: Yes, she betrayed the empire and helped me to escape.
Lyria: If it hadn't been for Katalina, I would still be in that tiny room.
Lyria: When I look up at the wall, it reminds of that time.
Annie: You said she betrayed her country?
Lyria: Um...
Annie: Did she come out unscathed?
Lyria: No, not entirely. To fight a war alone, she put herself through so many harsh battles.
Lyria: But Katalina encouraged me, (Captain) and Vyrn saved me, and we gathered so many friends before we knew it.
Annie: I see. Yeah, that would've been great.
Lyria: Yes, I'm grateful to have been rescued!
Annie: I wasn't talking about y—
Lyria: Hm?
Annie: ...
Armin: Annie? What is it?
Annie: Nothing.
The air is heavy with silence after Lyria unexpectedly reveals her past.
Everyone has their own opinions, but those are firmly locked behind lips that can't be pried open.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 3: The Walled Country - Episode 4

Lyria returns to their lodgings only to find Annie alone. Annie tells Lyria the others went to practice using their blades. Lyria's trusting nature causes Annie to open up and reveal a deep-seated sadness.

Later that night Lyria returns to the room, but none of the other crew members are there.
All she finds is Annie standing gloomily against a wall.
Lyria: Huh? Where is everyone? Eren and the others are gone too?
Annie: Yeah, they all just left.
Annie: There's something wrong with you people. First you wanted to use the vertical maneuvering gear, and now you want to test out this.
Annie points at her blades.
Lyria: Oh, I see... I wanted to go with them...
Annie: Heh. Heh heh heh...
Lyria: Annie?
Lyria looks blankly at Annie, her pure eyes sensing nothing.
Annie's hardened expression softens slightly in the face of Lyria's naivete.
Annie: When I heard Eren offering to teach something, I felt this rush of memories.
Lyria: Memories?
Annie: When my father was teaching me hand-to-hand combat, I know I had those same eyes.
Annie: The training sucked, but it was somehow satisfying all the same.
Annie: I focused only on improving, and that alone was enough to make my father happy.
Annie: Even now he probably still wants to see that face... The one from the hard, painful training...
Lyria: Annie...
Lyria doesn't really understand what Annie's trying to say, but she listens with a smile.
Annie: Lyria... If you found out I was actually a bad person, would you still be smiling like that?
Lyria: Well, I'm not really sure what you mean, but I know you're a good person, Annie.
Annie: Huh?
Lyria: You have a nice smile.
Lyria: That's enough to tell me that you're not a bad person.
Annie: I wish you wouldn't tease me like that.
Lyria: I-I wouldn't... I mean...
Annie: You're a genuinely nice person. And that's the scariest thing of all.
Annie: Remember this. Not everyone does something because they like it.
Annie: In this world there are some things that must be done, even if you don't want to.
Annie: In this perpetually cruel world, the weak ones like us are...
Lyria: Annie.
Annie: Sorry, forget what I said.
Lyria: ...
Lyria can see a sadness on Annie's face, a face that Annie normally doesn't show to anyone. Lyria is assailed by feelings of unease.
But Annie says nothing more.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 4: Soldiers Dance - Episode 1

Vyrn complains about the food, so Armin agrees to take the crew to a place close by for dinner. Fearing the Military Police Brigade spotting them, the group convinces Annie to guide them.

The people in the higher rungs of society are particularly unwelcoming of the outsiders beyond the wall.
But (Captain) and company don't feel the slightest bit confined thanks to the kindness of Eren and his comrades.
Although the crew has gotten used to a life of relatively lax surveillance, Vyrn grows unsatisfied.
Vyrn: Things have been pretty good, and you guys have treated us like VIPs, but...
Eren: What is it, Vyrn? Do you want us to do something for you?
Vyrn: Well, I mean, we're just kinda gettin' tired of this.
Vyrn points to the bowl of watery soup with nothing but chunks of potato in it.
No one refutes the dragon's declaration, but the silence says more than words can.
Lyria: That's enough, Vyrn. Stop making a fuss for everyone.
Armin: He's not wrong, Lyria. But this is better than nothing.
Lyria: It is?
Mikasa: Since we retreated back to this wall, we've lost many of our fields and livestock.
Armin: Salt is a precious commodity. Everything tastes bland without it.
Eren: I can't even remember the last time I had meat. I heard they serve it on the night before an expedition, but maybe it's a lie.
Armin: Still, we get to eat every day because we're soldiers, which is more than others can say.
Armin: There are many people living in the walls that don't even get to eat a soup like this.
Vyrn: Oh, wow... I had no idea...
Eren: Nah, you're right though. This soup is awful.
Lyria: Huh?
Eren: I've been thinking about it for a while. I'll eat potatoes, just give us better tasting ones.
Armin: Then why don't we go to that other mess hall?
Mikasa: The one Sasha likes?
Armin: Yeah, that's the one.
Armin: Annie can handle it for us.
Annie: Me?
Armin: That mess hall is in a part of town patrolled by the MP Brigade.
Armin: Maybe you could get them off us like you did when we went to the forest.
Annie: I don't know about that. Forests and towns are two completely different things.
Vyrn: We finally landed ourselves in a totally new place. How could we not want to try the local cuisine?
Lyria: Is it really not okay, Annie?
Annie: Sigh... Guess I can't say no to that face.
  1. Thanks, Annie.

Choose: Thanks, Annie.
They push their seats back and prepare to enter the town.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 4: Soldiers Dance - Episode 2

The group happily marches along to a new source of food without being caught by the Military Police Brigade. However, not only are the MPB absent, but so are any other personnel. Annie finds this alarming and suspects Armin is up to something.

With Annie leading the way, (Captain) and company leave the lodgings without incident.
Navigating the back alleys, they don't run into a single member of the Military Police Brigade.
If anything, even the low number of pedestrians works in the crew's favor.
Eren: Not bad, Annie. You shine when you need to.
Armin: How'd you do that? Tell me next time.
Annie: ...
Lyria: Heehee, I wonder what the food's like. My tummy's rumbling.
Vyrn: Hey, they got apples there?
Mikasa: I don't know. I think they might be hard to come by this time of year.
Armin: There might be some dried apples though.
Vyrn: It's all good to me! I'm hangin' on by a thread...
Lyria: Ah, that's right. You haven't had an apple in a long time.
The crew fills the air with casual banter as they walk with a skip in their step.
Annie, who seems to want to get away from the cheeriness of it all by hanging back, suddenly stops.
Eren: Why'd you stop, Annie? We need to hurry, or we won't get any seats at the most popular place in town.
Mikasa: Eren, let's take that shortcut underground.
Annie: I can't. I'm scared.
Eren: Huh? You're not the type to be scared of anything. Stop being stubborn and hurry up.
Annie: We go above ground, or I won't help.
Eren: What the hell are you talking about? We're gonna lose our seats!
Annie: No, we won't.
Eren: What?
Annie: There aren't that many people outside at all today.
Annie: I wonder why that is? How come we haven't seen a single person around us?
Eren: ...!
No one speaks. The gnawing stillness is too much for Lyria to bear, and she raises her voice, shivering.
Lyria: What do you mean, Annie? We haven't seen anyone because you're helping us stay that way.
Armin: It's just as Lyria said. Come on, Annie, let's get to the mess hall.
Annie: Sheesh, you guys, that really hurts. When was it that you started looking at me like that?
Armin: Annie...
Both combatants exchange words like boxers feeling each other out. The occurrence from days before plays out in Armin's head.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 4: Soldiers Dance - Episode 3

Days earlier Armin was in the Survey Corps office. He told Erwin and Levi that he believes the identity of the Female Titan is none other than Annie Leonhart. Now he and the group attempt to capture her but fail as she transforms into a Titan.

Returning to a few days earlier, Armin is called into the commander's office of the Survey Corps.
Armin: Armin Arlert, reporting in, sir.
Commander Erwin and Captain Levi are waiting for him.
Erwin: Is it true that the you've been able to identify who the Female Titan is?
Armin: Yes, sir. It is most assuredly Annie Leonhart of the 104th Training Corps.
Levi: Do you have proof? We can't take her in without it.
Armin: I do.
Levi: Let's hear it.
Armin: First, the Female Titan knew how to read our signal flares.
Armin: She understood that the green flares were signaling a course shift, and she ran straight for the Titan Forest.
Levi: That's just a guess, not proof.
Armin: Yes, which leads me to my second point.
Armin: The commander and I were investigating that airship the other day.
Armin places a damaged vertical maneuvering gear onto the table.
Levi: What's your point?
Armin: I checked the identification number, and it belongs to Annie Leonhart.
Levi: Where did you find it?
Armin: On the ground close to the Grandcypher.
Armin: Lyria and her friends confirmed it. That proves Annie was outside the wall that day while we were out too.
Levi: Then it's settled. We'll take over from here.
Armin: Finally the last point is...
Armin: Annie, why did you say, "I wasn't talking about you?"
Annie: What are you talking about?
Armin: Back when Lyria was telling us how happy she was to escape.
Armin: You weren't focused on Lyria. You were sympathizing with the person who saved Lyria and betrayed her country, weren't you?
Armin: What you meant to say was...
Armin: "I wasn't talking about you. I was talking about her."
Armin: You almost let it slip.
Annie: I don't know. I don't remember.
Eren: Stop being vague, Annie! Just tell us we're wrong!
Annie: ...
Mikasa: Enough. I can't listen to any more. I'll slice you up... Female Titan.
Mikasa draws her blade. She kicks off the ground in an instant, rushing toward Annie.
At the same time, Armin fires a signal flare, and Survey Corps members jump out from hiding.
Annie: How did it come to this?
However, the Survey Corps is one step too slow.
She brings her finger to her mouth and bites down hard.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 4: Soldiers Dance - Episode 4

Mikasa and Armin leave the crew in the underground road. Above ground, the Survey Corps begin their assault on the Female Titan. Ultimately they are no match, so Eren attempts to fight as a Titan but cannot transform and is kidnapped by Annie.

Female Titan: Aaaaa!
Annie in her Titan form reaches out to grab Eren.
Mikasa pulls him into the underground tunnel, and everyone turns to run.
Vyrn: (Captain)! Are you still with us?
Mikasa: This way! Hurry and get to cover!
Lyria: Huff... Huff... We somehow got away...
Eren: Damn it, Annie!
Mikasa: You can't go out there!
Eren: You can't stop me! Our comrades are dead because of her!
Eren: Ugh... Mika... sa... Why...
Armin: If Eren goes out there, it'll result in the same thing that happened during the expedition. We won't let Annie get her hands on Eren again.
Mikasa: Lyria and the rest of you should stay here too. No matter what happens, don't come out.
Lyria: But you'll—
Mikasa: We'll be fine.
Armin: Sorry we couldn't treat you to a meal. We'll definitely make up for it later.
Female Titan: Aaaaa!
Erwin: Do what you must to stop the Female Titan!
Survey Corps members converge on the Female Titan from all sides on Erwin's command.
They're flicked away, swatted, and crushed like mere flies.
Erwin's eyes never flinch amidst the carnage, for the Corps members continue to zip through the air, their blades glinting, their lives ready to be lost.
Armin: I have returned, Commander.
Mikasa: What's the situation?
Erwin: Exactly as it looks. We managed to stop its movements.
Armin: Seems like we still have to work to lead her to the mark.
But Armin notices something that makes him go pale.
Armin: No... Eren, why did you...
Mikasa: I told him not to come out!
Eren stumbles out from the underground tunnel clutching his stomach.
Female Titan: Aaaaa!
Eren: Huff... Huff... Why, damn it...
Eren: Why did you...
Eren: I'm going to rip you to pieces!
He sinks his teeth into his finger in a fit of rage.
Blood spurts out accompanied by tremendous pain, but no Titan appears.
Eren: Aaaugh! How come I can't transform?
Female Titan: Aaaaa!
In one fell swoop, the Female Titan scoops up Eren and shoves the hope of humanity into her mouth.
Mikasa: ...!
Mikasa can't stand by and do nothing.
Armin: Mikasa! Don't rush in like that!
Female Titan: Aaaaa!
Mikasa: Ugh... I'm going to save you... Eren...
Hearing the commotion, the crew runs out of the tunnel too.
Vyrn: Hey, what's happening?
Lyria: Oh no! Mikasa!
Their last hope, Eren, is lost, and Mikasa's attacks have no effect.
In these dire straits, Erwin makes his move.
Erwin: It's now or never.
Erwin fires his anchors, alighting from rooftop to rooftop.
Erwin: You all came at a good time.
Lyria: Yipes, Erwin! When did you—
Erwin: I apologize for keeping this from you and then springing out a favor at a time like this.
Erwin: If the Survey Corps loses Eren and Mikasa, we will suffer a significant strategic loss.
Erwin: Can you use your sky realm powers to create an opening for us, no matter how brief?
Erwin: All we need is a tiny window, and we'll do the rest.
Vyrn: No problemo. We'll show you what (Captain) picked up while training in the forest!
  1. You can count on me.

Choose: You can count on me.
(Captain): ...
Lyria: I don't want to see any more people get hurt. Not the soldiers or the townspeople.
Lyria: We have to stop Annie.
Mikasa: I want to bring Eren back... Fight with us!

Titanic Yeager - Tenacity

With the help of the crew, it appears the Female Titan is captured. However, she musters the last of her strength, breaks free, and heads for the wall. The Female Titan escapes with Eren and leaves everyone in a drowning despair.

Female Titan: Gaaaaah!
Thanks to the actions of the crew, Mikasa regains her composure and proceeds to slice up the Female Titan.
The wounded Titan staggers toward the wall. Her only option left is to retreat.
Armin: Commander, target arriving in 10...
5...
3, 2, 1—
Erwin: Fire!
Female Titan: Gaaaaah!
Snares blast out from the special target restraining weapons.
When the smoke from spent gunpowder clears, the Female Titan comes into view, wrapped in a multitude of wires.
They think they've finally got her.
Female Titan: Gaaaaah!
Mustering the last of her strength, she slips out from the restraints and dashes for the wall.
Sinking her fingers into the wall, she begins to scramble up.
Armin: Her tenacity is incredible... It would take us half a day to get the horses ready and assembled.
Armin: Damn it... We won't be able to go after Eren...
Mikasa: Eren...
Despair washes over the already injured bodies of all involved: the Survey Corps, the townspeople, and the crew.
Why is this world filled with so much cruelty, helplessness, and irrationality?
Those feelings of loss and torment are trapped in their hearts with no release in sight.
To be continued...

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 5: Light at the End - Episode 1

Hue and cry mounts among the citizens of the wall, leaving the crew no time to mourn Eren's abduction or their failure to stop the Female Titan.

Eren is now lost to the escaped Female Titan. So too the lives of many soldiers who perished in vain.
In the eyes of those who dwell within the walls, that is the legacy left behind by the Survey Corps.
Even worse is the fallout from information spread by witnesses who saw Lyria's power.
Citizen 1: What is she? Is that what you call magic?
Citizen 2: They can probably turn into Titans too if you ask me.
Citizen 3: And what the hell is that strange lizard that follows them around?
Vyrn: Hey! Quit calling me a lizard!
Lyria: That's right. We came from the sky and—
Lyria stops mid-sentence.
She remembers what Armin said about keeping quiet and hesitates.
Wallist: I read the MP Brigade's reports! Their true colors are written there for all to see!
Wallist: They came from beyond the wall!
The anger of the citizens intensifies.
Wallist: But above all else, that blue-haired heretic wishes to blaspheme the wall with her wicked outsider ideology!
Their pent up rage can no longer be contained.
Citizen 1: Get them! Drive them out!
Citizen 2: Drive them out! Drive them out!
Citizen 3: Throw them out the wall!
The sermon of the Wallist incites fervor among the masses.
It's only a matter of time before the situation turns violent. Realizing what's to come, the crew members ready themselves for a fight.
And then it all changes.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 5: Light at the End - Episode 2

The citizens lose their patience and attempt to assault (Captain) and the crew. Armin and Mikasa declare war on any who would hurt the crew. Just then, Erwin steps in with a booming voice from high above the city.

And then it all changes.
Armin: Step any closer, and you'll have to deal with us!
Mikasa: I'm a pretty good butcher. I'll gladly show you how it's done if you push me.
Armin and Mikasa place themselves between the crew and the unruly mob.
Lyria: Why are you doing this?
Mikasa: You're still under our surveillance. That includes protection duties.
Armin: You can't retaliate with your weapons, or you'll lose any chance of explaining yourselves.
  1. That's crazy.

Choose: That's crazy.
Armin: We're used to crazy. We fight Titans after all.
Mikasa: I couldn't stand it when they called Eren a monster. And I won't let them call you one either, Lyria.
Lyria: Armin... Mikasa...
Citizen 1: Lousy freeloaders! Whose taxes do you think pay for your sloth?
Citizen 2: How dare you point your weapons at civilians? That's a military violation!
Citizen 3: Wake up, MPB! Do your job and arrest these criminals!
Armin: This isn't good. I was hoping they'd calm down a little, but it's gotten too out of hand.
Mikasa: Don't worry. I'll protect you all.
No one can be stopped from taking action. Both sides are prepared for the inevitable spilling of blood.
That is until a stern voice intervenes.
Erwin: Hear me, proud citizens of the walls. Do you not wish to know the truth behind this world?
Erwin: We are prepared to speak!
Erwin: Are you but a bystander, or do you seek release on the wings of freedom?
Erwin: Our fate now lies in the hands of these people!
There atop a mound of rubble, stands Erwin Smith, commander of the Survey Corps.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 5: Light at the End - Episode 3

Erwin calms the people and asks the crew to tell everyone about the sky realm. (Captain), Lyria, and Vyrn tell their tale and, as if to prove the validity of their words, the Grandcypher appears giving hope to all for the world beyond the walls.

Erwin's monologue seems to have doused the fuse of the explosive situation, at least for the time being.
But the Wallist is unmoved.
Wallist: Don't be taken in by their lies! Their truth is a deception.
Wallist: Of all the expeditions they've undertaken, have we seen a single victory of note?
Wallist: They sprawl on a mountain of sacrifices while we drown in taxes! Hopelessness is all we've ever known!
Wallist: I will not suffer to listen to anything you people have to say!
The citizens begin to murmur once more.
However Erwin doesn't panic.
He beckons for the crew to take a place next to him on the rubble pile.
Erwin: There's no need to hide it any longer. I want you to tell these people the truth about this world.
  1. Got it.
  2. Are you sure about this?

Choose: Got it.
Lyria: Please, everyone, listen to everything we have to say.

Choose: Are you sure about this?
Vyrn: We don't have the luxury of second-guessing ourselves right now!
Lyria: It's okay, (Captain). If we explain everything thoroughly, I'm sure they'll understand.
Continue 1
(Captain) gives a resolute nod, takes a deep breath, and addresses the crowd.
  1. We're not from this island.

Choose: We're not from this island.
(Captain) speaks of a sky above and beyond the walls, its bounds seemingly endless—
Flying by the wings of an airship, they came from a far-off island.
(Captain) passionately describes all aspects of their journey.
Lyria: There are no Titans where we're from. The sky is full of many different islands, with lots of people and delicious food.
Lyria: And much, much more! We have so much fun being there!
Vyrn: As skyfarers, we're not tied down to anything, so we kinda get to do whatever we want!
Citizen 1: What does that mean? I've never heard of such a thing before.
Citizen 2: Are they saying that the king's been lying to us the entire time?
Citizen 3: We're the ones who have been kept in the dark?
The turning tide frightens the true believer.
Wallist: I-it's a lie! Do not believe their falsehoods!
Wallist: These walls have graced us with their divinity for one hundred years!
Wallist: Turning our backs on them will only serve to fatten the Titans!
A black shadow passes over the sweat-drenched face of the Wallist.
In fact, it envelops everyone present.
One by one the citizens look up, their mouths agape at what floats above them.
Citizen 1: Wh-what is that?
Citizen 2: It's a ship... There's a ship in the sky!
Citizen 3: It's the same ship the blue-haired girl was talking about!
Erwin: I'm glad you made it in time, Levi, but you have a knack for turning one's blood cold.
Erwin gazes up at the Grandcypher with satisfaction.
The satisfaction of knowing that at least one gamble has paid off.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 5: Light at the End - Episode 4

Members of the Survey Corps and the crew board the Grandcypher. They are bid farewell by the hopeful citizens of the city within the walls.

The sight of the magnificent airship floating over their heads is the strongest argument to be made to the citizens of the walls.
It begins to dawn on them that there is truth in (Captain)'s words. They turn their fury on the royal government and the Church.
Wallist: Do you realize what you've done, Erwin?
Erwin: Prosperity derived from deceit has no future. We choose hope.
Wallist: Hah... Hahaha... And yet you know nothing. This country is finished!
Wallist: The peace the king maintained—that we maintained—will crumble along with these very walls! Haha... Hahahaha!
The believer walks away, laughing and ranting indecipherably.
Mikasa and Armin once again express their surprise to (Captain) and the crew, hope renewed in their voices.
Mikasa: Everything you said about the outside world was true.
Mikasa: It was Eren's dream to leave these walls and explore the outside world.
Armin: I've always wanted to see the ocean ever since I read about it in my grandpa's book.
Armin: But I still can't believe there's a sky that is even bigger than the ocean.
Mikasa: Let's go see it, Armin. Once we get Eren back, we'll go with everyone and confirm it with our own eyes.
Armin: Yeah. If we stick with you, I'm sure we'll surpass the walls, (Captain).
  1. Let's go for it, everyone.

Choose: Let's go for it, everyone.
The Grandcypher touches down gingerly.
Commander Erwin takes charge and leads his soldiers on board.
Erwin: From this moment forward, the Survey Corps will fight with the people of the sky to recover humanity's hope, Eren Yeager!
The airship rises into the air, uplifted by the cheers of the masses below.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 6: Counterattack on Titan - Episode 1

On the Grandcypher deck, Armin and Mikasa cannot contain their excitement and awe. Erwin and Levi discuss their strategy for subduing Annie, the crew agrees to help, and then the Female Titan comes into sight.

The Grandcypher remains in a low-altitude flying pattern.
Armin and Mikasa are unable to contain their excitement as they look down from the deck on the view below.
Mikasa: It's actually flying. How is it doing this?
Armin: I have no idea. It's not like we're allowed to have flying objects within the walls.
Lyria: Oh, really?
Armin: It's a shame really. There's a well-known story about a husband and wife who were put to death for simply releasing a balloon into the air.
Vyrn: Oh no! Then what's gonna happen to us?
Armin: Haha. Not to worry. Something tells me that era is about to come to an end.
Mikasa: Your influence is that powerful.
Armin: Yeah... The power of the sky realm...
As Armin and Mikasa contemplate the changing times, Erwin and Levi go over the operation to rescue Eren.
Levi: While you guys were fighting, my squad was bringing repair supplies to the Grandcypher.
Levi: Not a bad plan, but you were treading on thin ice.
Levi: We could've lost everything if we were even a second too late.
Erwin: It was a big gamble, one that relied on perfect timing. You did well, Levi.
Levi: Save it.
Rackam: Is your boss always like this?
Levi: Yeah. Always. But you have nothing to worry about.
Rackam: Hahaha. Boy, do I know the feeling, pal.
  1. You got it fixed up awfully fast.

Choose: You got it fixed up awfully fast.
Rackam: You can thank Levi for that.
Rackam: Wouldn't call him a social butterfly, but he's pretty skilled in a high-strung sort of way.
Rackam: Couldn't have done it this quickly without him. Hehe, thanks, Levi.
Levi: I can't tell if you're complimenting me or putting me down, Rackam.
Rackam: Uh, of course I'm complimenting you! You're freakin' paranoid...
Erwin: Mr. Helmsman, could we save this conversation for after the operation?
Rackam: Whoops, sorry for running my mouth off.
Erwin: Recovering Eren is our highest priority.
Erwin: With your help, the Survey Corps will put everything on the line to create an opening against the Female Titan.
  1. How so?

Choose: How so?
Erwin: A full-on assault from every direction.
Erwin: By scattering our attacks, she'll naturally be drawn to protecting her nape.
Erwin: When she covers her neck with both her hands, Levi and Mikasa will swoop in to cut her cheek muscles.
Erwin: That should cause her jaw to open, allowing us to secure Eren.
Levi: Understood.
Rackam: Yep, we got it too.
Armin: Commander Erwin! The Female Titan has been spotted!
Their target comes into view from where they stand on the Grandcypher.
As the ship gains speed on the Titan, Erwin rallies his troops.
Erwin: Whether humanity ends today will be decided by this battle! Dedicate your hearts to freedom!

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 6: Counterattack on Titan - Episode 2

The group attacks the Female Titan in waves. The crew strikes in the second wave, and the Female Titan falls to the coordinated assault. Mikasa and Levi tear her cheek tissue, open her mouth, and take Eren back safely.

Female Titan: Aaaaa!
The Grandcypher catches up to the Female Titan from behind.
Startled by the sudden appearance of the airship, she stops running.
Erwin: All units, advance!
Corps Member 1: You'll pay for what you did to my comrades!
Female Titan: Aaaaa!
Corps Member 1: Ngh...
Corps Member 2: Humans will never yield to the Titans!
Female Titan: Aaaaa!
Corps Member 2: Ngh! Ahhh!
The Female Titan should be nearing her limit, and yet she continues to resist, an unmistakable look of purpose burning in her eyes.
As the flames of the Survey Corps are snuffed out, Erwin remains unshaken in his conviction. He is the one person who isn't allowed to falter.
  1. How can he sacrifice people like that?

Choose: How can he sacrifice people like that?
Rackam: Sheesh, what's with these guys? Aren't they afraid of dying?
Erwin: Fear is a long forgone option. We've paid too heavy a price to remember.
Rackam: Guess you'd have to go that far in order to fight a Titan.
  1. I can't stand just watching.

Choose: I can't stand just watching.
Rackam: (Captain)'s right. We didn't come here as spectators. So we'll just, you know...
Erwin: Yes. Now would be a good time.
Rackam: All right! (Captain)! Let's show 'em how skyfarers fight!
With the crew entering the fray, the Female Titan is severely weakened.
She takes to the ground—the tendons of her legs cut, blinded, hands covering her nape.
Erwin: Now!
Mikasa: Hang on, Eren. I'll cut you out of that disgusting place!
Levi: This is the end for you!
Mikasa and Levi fly in like arrows, coordinating their strikes on the Female Titan's cheeks.
Eren rolls out from the collapsed jaw, covered in mucus.
Levi grabs him as he tumbles out and flies away with Mikasa.
Thanks to the help of the crew, the Survey Corps's plan to take back Eren is a success.

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 6: Counterattack on Titan - Episode 3

Eren is slow to awaken since he drowns in self-pity. When he finally regains his composure, he readies himself for battle as a Titan.

Eren: Where... am I...
Eren: What happened... to me...
Eren: I was going to crush Annie...
Eren: But I couldn't transform...
Eren: Because... I didn't see her as an enemy?
Eren: Can't forgive her for what she did... Never...
Eren: But even fighting against friends, she didn't hesitate.
Eren: Not just her. Mikasa. Armin. Commander Erwin, Captain Levi.
Eren: They're all the same. They have that killer instinct to fight.
Eren: What about me? What was I missing?
Eren: I... I...
Eren: I have it too!
Eren: Remember the day you lost Mom... Remember it!
Eren: Remember the vow you made as the Titans trampled your home—the shame of losing everything to them...
Eren: I'm gonna destroy them! Every last one of those...
Eren: Animals that's on this earth!
???: Eren! Eren, can you hear me?
Eren: Ungh... Mikasa?
Mikasa: You're awake!
Eren: Are we outside the wall?
Armin: Yeah. We all came to rescue you from Annie.
Eren: I see... So it was my fault again...
Female Titan: Aaaaa!
Levi: Tch, why won't she do us a favor and take a nap? Whatever. We'll keep cutting her up however many times she likes.
Eren: Captain, wait. Let me do something.
Levi: Hm? What can a half-dead rookie like you do? You'll only get in the way.
Eren: No, I won't. This time I'll take it out.
Levi returns Eren's determined look with cold eyes as if testing him.
Staring into the blacks of Eren's eyes, Levi sees the fires of absolution and spits out a rebuke.
Levi: I told you before the choice is yours.
Eren: ...
Levi: You good-for-nothing, absentminded idiot. How long do you plan on keeping us waiting?
Eren: Sir!
Levi: Mikasa, Armin, (Captain). Do what you can. The rest of us will cover Eren.
Armin: Sir!
Mikasa: I didn't need you to tell me that.
(Captain): ...
  1. Good luck, Eren.

Choose: Good luck, Eren.
Eren: If only I had fought...
Eren: If only I had been determined...
Eren: No one would have had to die!
Eren: Gaaaa!
Eren's intense emotions travel from his fist into the body of the Female Titan.
Female Titan: Aaaaa!

Titanic Yeager - Chapter 6: Counterattack on Titan - Episode 4

With support from the crew, Eren is finally able to take the Female Titan down. Counter to everyone's hopes, Eren loses control and attempts to take Annie and the Grandcypher out of commission. Under Levi's orders, everyone races to stop Eren.

Eren: Gaaaah!
Female Titan: Aaaaa!
Titans clash, each combatant clinging to their own resolutions.
But even death eventually hangs over the Female Titan whose abilities and will had allowed her to overcome every obstacle up to this point.
Erwin: Eren! That's enough! We need her alive!
Eren: Gaaaah!
Mikasa: He's not going to stop!
Armin: Can he not hear us? Did he lose himself again?
Levi: He's lost his damn mind, and now he's coming our way.
Eren: Gaaaah!
Erwin: No. He's heading for the Grandcypher!
Vyrn: What're we gonna do, (Captain)?
Levi: Damn rookie.
Levi: So be it. Time for this fail-safe to do his duty.
Levi: I'll handle Eren while you back me up.

Titanic Yeager - Ending

Eren is brought back to reality and freed from his Titan form, while Annie crystalizes herself leaving the Survey Corps without any leads. Eren, Mikasa, and Armin are entrusted to the crew to learn about the world beyond the walls.

Vyrn: We did it, (Captain)!
Lyria: We somehow managed to stop Eren.
  1. Huff... Huff...

Choose: Huff... Huff...
Levi: Looks like you figured out vertical maneuvering.
Using the crew as a distraction, Levi had gone around Eren and cut his nape.
Those precision cuts expose Eren's human body without injuring him.
Mikasa: It's hot! Eren!
Armin: He'll be all right. He's not as beat up as before.
Armin: Still, it was a close call. Any later and Eren would've...
Levi: What are you doing? Come give me a hand with this!
Levi and the others stand on the back of the Female Titan's head, ready to drive their blades into her nape.
But when they drag her out, she's encased in a crystalline substance.
Levi: Our blades don't even make a dent in it.
Levi: Get out here and face us!
Erwin: That's enough, Levi.
Levi: ...
Erwin: We weren't the only ones ready to give up everything.
Erwin: Our enemy had the same resolve we did. That's as best as we can gather.
He says what no one wants to be said.
Left with a feeling of emptiness inside, the crew gathers up the wounded and heads back.
Some more days go by.
The entirety of the Survey Corps comes to see the crew off.
They're taking off from the southern tip of Estioss.
For Armin and the others, the sky is blue for as far as their eyes can see.
Erwin: In the end we still don't know the truth behind the Titans, but freedom and hope have been born anew.
Erwin: We have you to thank for that. You have my regards, (Captain).
  1. Nah, it was nothing.
  2. I wouldn't go that far...

Choose: Nah, it was nothing.
Lyria: We didn't really do anything though.
Vyrn: Yep, it was all because of the brave soldiers of the Survey Corps.

Choose: I wouldn't go that far...
Lyria: Heehee, you were flying all over the place.
Vyrn: You had me worried at the beginning, hanging upside down like that. Guess I was wrong after you handled it like a pro!
Continue 1
Erwin: There's something I would like to discuss if I may.
  1. What's that?

Choose: What's that?
Erwin: With your abilities, I think even you would be, at the very least, on even-footing against a strong Titan.
Erwin: Would you be averse to taking a few of our Corps members under your wing?
Lyria: You mean travel with us?
Vyrn: Um, well... Who did you have in mind?
Erwin: Eren Yeager!
Eren: Sir!
Erwin: Mikasa Ackerman!
Mikasa: Sir.
Erwin: Armin Arlert!
Armin: Sir!
Erwin: You three are to take part in a special expedition beyond the wall!
Vyrn: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold it! Did you think this through?
Erwin: What is there to think about?
Vyrn: What's gonna happen to the Survey Corps if we take Titan Dude and Scarf Girl away from you?
Erwin: That won't be a problem.
Erwin: We are the elites who thread the divide between life and death. The wings of freedom will not crumple so readily.
Vyrn: Oh... Okay... Then I guess we could take them...
Lyria: Well, Erwin is the commander, right?
Lyria: We can't ignore an order like that.
Rackam: Hey, we're ready for takeoff! We need to go now while the wind's died down!
Lyria: Oh, right!
Lyria: Well, Erwin, Levi. Thank you for taking care of us.
Erwin: Mm. I wish you and your compatriots safe travels.
Levi: Stay sharp.
Though with a bit of hesitation, (Captain) and the others wave goodbye as they board the Grandcypher.
Erwin waves back to the crew from the front of his troops.
As he does so, a shadow flies over his head, wires running from the figure overhead to the deck of the ship.
Levi alights on a ship railing and turns to face the Corps.
Erwin: Levi!
Levi: Sigh... Being a failsafe is such a nuisance.
Erwin: Haha. Good luck.
There is still hope yet for this oft cruel world.
Travelers from the sky have planted the seeds of light within the dark hearts of confined humanity.
Erwin and the Survey Corps salute the crew for what they provided—a chance meeting in a sea of despair.
Erwin: All the best on your journey, hope of the sky! To humanity's freedom...
Erwin: Dedicate your hearts!
Survey Corps: Dedicate your hearts!
Titanic Yeager
The End

Titanic Yeager - Day 1

Eren: Hey, (Captain), what are we doing out here?
Eren: I brought you to the forest since you asked me to, but shouldn't we have rounded up a few others?
Eren: Huh? You were too embarrassed to? What are you talking about?
Eren: I just don't get this...
Eren: Hm?
Eren: You keep flipping upside down when you use maneuvering gear?
Eren: Hahaha...
Eren: So that's what the problem is. Don't worry about it. I'm the same as you.
Eren: It used to happen to me too back when I was with the Training Corps. Of course that was because of faulty equipment—
Eren: Wha? Who'd you hear that from? Was it Armin? Mikasa? Urgh...

Titanic Yeager - Day 2

Mikasa: The time you were hanging upside down? Yes, I told (Captain) about it.
Eren: I knew it.
Eren: Why did you have to talk about my uncool moment? At least make me sound better or something...
Mikasa: Because it wasn't.
Eren: What?
Mikasa: If there's anyone who considers your effort to be uncool...
Mikasa: I'll cut them down.
Eren: Hey, stop it! Joke or not, that's terrifying, Mikasa!
Eren: Just look at all the stress you're putting on (Captain).
Mikasa: I'm sorry. I lost my cool over nothing.

Titanic Yeager - Day 3

Mikasa: This scarf?
Mikasa: Yes, I always wear it. I never considered it to be too hot.
Mikasa: It's because Eren wrapped it around me.
Mikasa: He's very important to me. He's my—
Mikasa: No, we're not a couple. He's family.
Mikasa: I can bear the coldness of the world as long as I have this.
Mikasa: I won't let myself be at the whim of the world's cruelty anymore.
Mikasa: Do you have something like my scarf too, (Captain)?

Titanic Yeager - Day 4

Armin: Huh? You thought I was a girl?
Armin: That hurts, (Captain).
Armin: You think it's fine since you meant it as a compliment?
Armin: Well, I don't know if I've met a guy who liked being called "cutie-tootie".
Armin: What should you call me instead? Hmm...
Armin: I guess "cool" doesn't exactly fit...
Armin: Sweethearted?
Armin: Hey, that's not bad!
Armin: Ah, what am I saying? That doesn't change anything at all!
Armin: There are no good choices here...

Titanic Yeager - Day 5

Erwin: Thank you for coming, (Captain). Please have a seat.
Erwin: Rather than discuss official business, I wanted to make amends to our standing.
Erwin: It would be easy to leave well enough alone, but that is not the type of man I am.
Erwin: Please pardon my impropriety for searching your ship without permission.
Erwin: Rest assured I did not touch anything inside. I just wanted to confirm that you were indeed people of the sky.
Erwin: It convinced me to put my trust in your words.
Erwin: I deeply apologize for acting rudely.
Erwin: I formally welcome you on behalf of the Survey Corps.

Titanic Yeager - Day 6

Erwin: I'm sorry for summoning you on short notice, (Captain).
Erwin: I've called you here today regarding a matter of utmost importance.
Erwin: You see...
Armin: Commander Erwin, I can explain it for you if you would like.
Erwin: No, it's best that this comes directly from me.
Erwin: As we all know, you are the captain of your airship, and I am somehow a commander in my own right.
Erwin: Would you indulge me with a cooperative discussion of trials and tribulations, from one captain to one commander?
Erwin: I think this is a good opportunity. I would be glad to hear your insights.

Titanic Yeager - Day 7

Levi: Terrible. This is a serious problem.
Eren: No way. Captain Levy, humanity's strongest soldier, is shaking with fear?
Armin: Fear? No, he's pissed off. I've never seen the captain this angry before.
Armin: Eren, you must've messed something up. You'd better go apologize to him right now.
Eren: I don't know why he's ticked off! Why do you always blame me first?
Levi: Quit your bantering.
Eren and Armin: ...
Levi: Hey, who's in charge of cleaning today?
Eren: I am, sir. I spent all morning clea—
Levi: You call that clean? Do it all again.

Titanic Yeager - Day 8

Annie: Armin? If you were ordered to die, would you?
Armin: That's a weird question to be asking all of a sudden, Annie.
Annie: You don't have to answer if you don't want to.
Armin: I think if there were a good enough reason that I understood and accepted, I would lay my life down.
Annie: I see.
Armin: That's it? You're a strange one, Annie.
Annie: You're weak, but you got guts.
Armin: Um... Thanks.
Armin: I guess you've actually got a nice side in there somewhere.
Annie: Huh?
Armin: Haha, just a little payback for the last comment.
Armin: Weren't expecting that, were you? That's what you get for asking weird stuff.
Annie: ...

Titanic Yeager - Day 9

Annie: Lyria's the girl with the blue hair, right?
Annie: She told me about your journey to find your father.
Annie: Father...
Annie: You'd go that far to chase him down? I don't see why.
Annie: I knew another man that was deluded with a dream that was far from reality.
Annie: In the bottom of my heart I'd written off those daily training sessions as complete wastes, but...
Annie: Sorry. I'm not trying to speak ill of your father.
Annie: But if it had been you in that situation, I think you'd understand why the person I'm talking about apologized to me for what he did.
Annie: He held me as he said this.
Annie: "I don't care if you make the entire world your enemy; your father will always be on your side. So please... promise me..."
Annie: ...
Annie: It's nothing. Forget it.

Titanic Yeager - Day 10

Levi: What are you doing here, Mikasa?
Mikasa: I could ask you the same, Captain.
Levi: I'm... shopping.
Mikasa: Then I'm shopping too. Was shopping. I just finished.
Levi: I see you've bought wool to mend your scarf with. That's a good color you've picked out.
Levi: However, there is a way to avoid the constant need for maintenance. Do you want to know what that is?
Mikasa: Please.
Levi: It's simple. Keep your head cool on the battlefield instead of overdoing it.
Levi: Stop throwing yourself into the thick of things without thinking. You won't get to see Eren again if you keep this up.
Mikasa: ...!
Mikasa: Captain... If you're looking for cleaning equipment, I recommend an old shop two districts over.
Mikasa: The broom you have is a bit too long for you.
Levi: Humph. That's not for you to worry about.
Mikasa: Just trying to help.

Titanic Yeager - Day 11

Armin: I still can't really believe it.
Eren: Believe what?
Armin: All the things Lyria told us.
Eren: Yeah, the sky realm's more than I could've imagined.
Armin: If it's real, then the dreams we've been having up till now just might come true.
Eren: Right. If we ride that airship, we'll finally get to see the ocean!
Armin: Not just the ocean! Burning water, lands of ice, and plains of sand!
Eren: That's where true freedom lies.
Eren: That freedom is the reason why we continue to push forward and fight.
Armin: Yeah, we'll get there someday. We'll crush the Titans and go with everyone...

Titanic Yeager - Day 12

Annie: Hey, can you tell me more about that story from before?
Lyria: Which story would that be?
Annie: About having the courage to resist the tide of something bigger. You know what I mean?
Lyria: Resisting the tide?
Lyria: Oh, are you talking about Katalina?
Annie: Yeah. The woman who saved you. Katalina.
Annie: She had the guts to believe in her own sense of morality and followed it through to the end.
Lyria: Why don't you give it a try too, Annie?
Annie: I'm... different.
Annie: I'm a weak person who only follows the tide.
Annie: I joined the MPB to save myself.
Lyria: Oh... I understand. Not everyone can be like Katalina.
Lyria: But I think that's completely normal.
Annie: Hm...
Lyria: What is it?
Annie: You're something all right. You're so nice that it's scary.

Titanic Yeager - Day 13

Vyrn: I can't stop thinking how weird this place is.
Lyria: I know what you mean. It's my first time being in a town that's surrounded by such huge walls.
Vyrn: Zoomin' around on those gear thingies, weirdo swords... It's all new to me.
Lyria: Ah, Vyrn! I just thought of something good!
Vyrn: What's that?
Lyria: Everything we've seen so far is new, right? So if we keep looking, I bet we'll find apples we've never seen before!
Vyrn: I think you're onto something! It's too bad those darn Titans are stomping around outside the wall though...
Vyrn: Geez... Does anyone actually know what those things really are?
