Two Crowns Quarrel

Utilizing what they've learned about the Two-Crown Bow, the crew restore the Revenant weapon to its original form—the shape it took during the War before it fell into a deep slumber. The spirit of the individual that wielded the Two-Crown Bow during the War speaks to the crew, implying that the weapon seeks to create a monstrous archer worthy of shooting its arrows in order to defeat an even greater threat.

Tweyen had fallen for the Two-Crown Bow's deceitful words in the past.
The bow wants to reclaim its power, and if the crew is to understand the reason for such a motive, they must reawaken the weapon.
Tweyen: ...
They learn that the bow needs to be restored to its former glory, back to the way it was before becoming buried in a long forgotten battlefield.
Tweyen visits many places to obtain the necessary materials in order to do so.
Two-Crown Bow: ...
Tweyen: That should do the trick.
Silva: Hm... Aside from looking a little bigger than before, it doesn't seem all that different to me.
Tweyen: Maybe not appearance wise, but it sure feels different.
Two-Crown Bow: And yet being restored doesn't appear to be enough.
Tweyen: ...!
The crew jump back from the bow upon hearing it speak.
Two-Crown Bow: Hmm... These vestments are from the time of the rebellion. How nostalgic.
This statement perplexes the crew. Why would a weapon think it's wearing clothing?
Silva: Don't move.
Two-Crown Bow: Having just awoken, I simply wish to talk. Lay down your arms.
Silva: Absolutely not. If I see anything suspicious, I'll shoot without a second thought.
Two-Crown Bow: Hnh. No need to be feisty. I assumed you would be interested in learning about the Two-Crown Bow.
Tweyen: Well, yes. We are interested. So tell me, Two-Crown Bow, what kind of prey do you hunt?
Two-Crown Bow: Vexingly, that I myself do not know.
Tweyen: You seem to be in a rush compared to our previous meetings. What's changed since then? Is the one you're hunting getting closer?
Two-Crown Bow: Yes. Something of that sort.
Silva: Why did you deceive Tweyen and try to involve her in a matter that she has no part in?
Two-Crown Bow: The Two-Crown Bow only desires peerless hands. Whatever else this bow ponders, I experience it only as the faintest of impulses.
Tweyen and Silva: ...?
Two-Crown Bow: I am simply an intermediary between the bow and you. The bow thinks but does not speak.
Tweyen: Who are you exactly?
Two-Crown Bow: The spirit of an archer from the war of rebellion, and the Two-Crown Bow was my accomplice.
(Captain) and company look at each other in disbelief.
Two-Crown Bow: Where this golden bow originated from, what its arrows seek, or why it imprisoned my spirit are all mysteries to me.
Two-Crown Bow: Nevertheless, let me tell you a story. Perhaps your answers can be found within my ramblings.
Tweyen: ...
Two-Crown Bow: I once had a country of my own, though either of our names are lost to time. For our purposes, you may call me the Bow King.
Two-Crown Bow: A deserved title considering my mighty crossbow could hit a target from across the battlefield with pinpoint accuracy.
Two-Crown Bow: With my natural physique and the intuition to pierce primal beast cores, I carved out my place in the great rebellion.
Two-Crown Bow: Fighting alongside me was another bowman hailed as the Archer King, a shooter from a small country whose skill rivaled my own.
Two-Crown Bow: It was he who possessed the golden bow, and he had spent many years cultivating his marksmanship with the bewitching weapon.
Two-Crown Bow: Every time I laid eyes upon the bow, it would glow as if to beckon me. As if enticing me to take my skills to a higher ascension.
Two-Crown Bow: The next thing I knew, the Archer King laid at my feet. Two crowns had quarreled, and I emerged victorious with the golden bow in hand. And so it became known as the Two-Crown Bow.
Two-Crown Bow: This weapon is in constant flux, always gravitating toward the stronger hand.
Two-Crown Bow: As to why, I do not know. But one thing is certain: it excels at putting down primal beasts and Astrals.
Two-Crown Bow: Despite the long dormancy of Astrals and primals in the aftermath of the rebellion, the bow feels as if it is in the midst of battle.
Two-Crown Bow: Perhaps stalking the Astrals was only the beginning. I can't begin to imagine what its next target may be.
Two-Crown Bow: But do keep in mind that its prey could come from a world we are not familiar with.
Two-Crown Bow: To find its preferred master, the Two-Crown Bow seeks to create a monstrous sharpshooter.
Two-Crown Bow: A monster like the Bow King, bereft of humanity, trembling with joy from possessing the golden relic as he stands over his friend's corpse.
Tweyen: ...
Two-Crown Bow: Now I end with a few words of parting. Every twang of a person's bowstring impacts the world. We all produce our own sounds, which varies in tone and resonance.
Two-Crown Bow: Occasionally, certain individuals with particularly strong resonances are born to shake the world. The Revenant weapons are drawn to them, seeking them as their masters.
Two-Crown Bow: Now the Two-Crown Bow has access to more than one legendary sharpshooter.
Two-Crown Bow: It is easy to snap two arrows in half, whereas three will not break. Do not forget that.
The weapon ceases to glow.
Silva: Wait!
Tweyen: Looks like it's sleeping again.
Silva: We didn't learn anything conclusive about its target, but if we read between the lines...
Tweyen: Someday we'll be forced to fight an incredibly formidable opponent.
Silva: Yes...
Tweyen: And to have any chance of defeating it, I need to become a monster...
Silva: If that's what it comes down to, I'd rather get rid of the bow altogether while we still can. We could always toss it away into the depths of the skies.
Tweyen: I don't think that will change anything. It can hear the resonance of a person's bowstrings, remember? So surely it will keep chasing after me.
Tweyen: Besides, I'll need the bow too to fight whatever's coming.
Tweyen: I want to protect everyone. So I have to find a way to bend the bow to my will without falling under its spell.
Silva: ...
The Two-Crown Bow's prey is out there somewhere, lurking unbeknown to the crew.
They aren't sure what's guiding them along, but a collision course seems inevitable.
