The Arrow's Target

Tweyen is wandering the town with only the Two-Crown Bow's words to keep her company when she hears the sound of Silva's gun firing in the distance. In order to fight alongside Tweyen in the coming battles, Silva and (Captain) are making experimental ammunition that will hopefully be on par with the Two-Crown Bow's arrows. Whatever fate has in store for them, Tweyen, Silva, and (Captain) vow to face it together.

Tweyen: ...
Tweyen wanders through town by herself, lost in thought.
Two-Crown Bow: Now I end with a few words of parting. Every twang of a person's bowstring impacts the world. We all produce our own sounds, which varies in tone and resonance.
Two-Crown Bow: Occasionally, certain individuals with particularly strong resonances are born to shake the world. The Revenant weapons are drawn to them, seeking them as their masters.
Tweyen: (Everyone's bowstrings produce their own unique sounds.)
Tweyen: (And certain people with incredible resonances will influence the world from time to time.)
Tweyen: (After meeting (Captain)'s crew and obtaining the Two-Crown Bow, the reverberation of my own string is surely getting louder.)
Two-Crown Bow: But do keep in mind that its prey could come from a world we are not familiar with.
Two-Crown Bow: To find its preferred master, the Two-Crown Bow seeks to create a monstrous sharpshooter.
Two-Crown Bow: A monster like the Bow King, bereft of humanity, trembling with joy from possessing the golden relic as he stands over his friend's corpse.
Tweyen: (Which will lead me down the path of turning into a monster...)
She looks down at the Revenant weapon gripped tightly in her hand and lets out a soft sigh.
Tweyen never felt she fit in until she joined (Captain)'s crew. And now to repay her debt to them, she might have to take drastic measures.
Tweyen: (Will I have to lose my humanity again just so I can fight?)
Tweyen: (I can't tell whose idea that is: mine or the bow's.)
She bites her lip in frustration.
Tweyen: ...?
Tweyen: That sounded like Silva's gun, but something's not right...
She looks quizzically in the direction of the gunshot.
Tweyen: (What are (Captain) and Silva doing?)
She flies over to the pair, who are tinkering with a set of guns.
Silva: Hey, Tweyen. Finished shopping?
Tweyen: Yeah. I picked up some souvenirs for Camieux and Cucouroux. What are you two doing with all that gunpowder?
Silva: Concocting new mixtures. We wanted to come up with more powerful ammunition.
Tweyen: Right, I see you're not stopping at gunpowder but working on bullets too. Looks like you've come up with a lot of ideas already. Why the sudden interest?
Silva: I discussed it with (Captain), and whomever the Two-Crown Bow's got it in for, we'll need bullets that are up to the task.
Tweyen: ...
Silva loads a bullet into her gun.
Silva: Regardless of what we're up against, I see no reason for you to become something you hate.
The bullet hurtles out of the barrel and bursts into pale blue streaks as it impacts a tree and cuts it in two.
Tweyen: ...!
Silva: Hm... Still not up to par with that bow.
Tweyen: Silva?
Silva: I've said it before; I won't let anyone call you a monster ever again.
Silva: If the bow is pushing you toward a consequential battle...
Silva: Then I'll leap into that battle with you. Between the Two-Crown's arrows and my bullets, you get the best of both worlds.
Silva watches as (Captain) loads a different type of bullet.
Silva: (Captain) and I agreed that slow and steady is the optimal way forward.
Tweyen: ...
Tweyen looks at both of them, and (Captain) smiles back.
Silva: The Bow King claims that the resonance of your bowstring is especially influential.
Silva: Well, (Captain) and I have strong resonances ourselves.
Silva: Actually, I almost want to say yours and mine are the same, but then I remember gunshots are way louder than arrows can ever be.
Tweyen: Silva...
Silva: Two arrows can be broken but three cannot. That's what the Bow King said.
Silva wipes soot from her face and smiles at Tweyen.
Tweyen: Yeah. Thank you, (Captain). Silva.
Tweyen possesses aptitude similar to the Bow King's. Silva is just as meticulous as the Archer King. They've had their own quarrels like the two shooters before them.
And then there's (Captain), whose own destiny deviates greatly from the fates of two former crowns.
These three arrows vow to never break in the face of adversity.
As for the Two-Crown Bow, with the primals and Astrals vanquished, it now seeks out more power.
Whatever that prey may be, (Captain) and company will fight tooth and nail without fear.
