Memories of Old

Naoise and Seruel reminisce as they enjoy tea in the Great Court's garden. The two recall how they have always been close and consider each other brothers. Back when Naoise departed Alster Island and went missing, Seruel was overjoyed to find him again after boarding (Captain)'s ship. While expressing their gratitude toward the captain, the two are interrupted by Heles, who joins their tea party.

It is a day like any other on Alster Island.
Inside the public library of Emmain Macha, the castle of Irestill Kingdom, Prince Seruel pours over books.
Young Seruel: ...
Young Naoise: Seruel?
Young Naoise: Where are you?
Young Seruel: Sigh... Naoise, you're being too loud. This is a library.
Young Naoise: Oh! My apologies... That's where you were.
Young Seruel: Did you finish training with Uisneach?
Young Naoise: Yes! Would you like to have tea now? Mother baked some sweets.
Young Seruel: All right. I'll join you.
Young Naoise: Okay, let's head to the courtyard.
Young Naoise: Nom...
Young Naoise: This is delicious! I didn't taste anything suspicious, so please go ahead.
Young Seruel: You always claim everything is delicious.
Young Seruel: But I suppose Elisheba has yet to let me down. Nom...
Young Seruel: ...
Young Naoise: Hehe...
Young Seruel: Is there something stuck to my face?
Young Naoise: No, not at all. I was happy to see you smile.
Young Naoise: You haven't been your usual self lately...
Young Seruel: (That's because life has been boring, what with you spending all your time training with Uisneach.)
Young Seruel: (Saying as much won't change anything though.)
Young Naoise: Mother also told me you weren't eating enough. There should be plenty of light food here that you might like. Please eat up!
Young Seruel: Shouldn't you be the one eating more?
Young Seruel: All that exercise must have made you hungry.
Young Naoise: You make a good point. I have to eat well in order to grow and become a knight sooner!
Young Naoise: It does make me a little sad to spend so much time away from you, but I want to be able to protect you and our kingdom.
Young Naoise: I'll keep working hard to become a great knight! Just wait and see!
Young Seruel: Is that so...
Young Seruel: You have my full support, Naoise. I'll count on you to protect our people.
Young Naoise: I swear I will!
Seruel: Hah...
Naoise: What is it, Seruel?
Seruel: Memories of our youth sprung to mind as I sipped this tea you brewed.
Though the castle has now become the Great Court, Seruel and Naoise find themselves sitting in the garden and enjoying tea together, much like old times.
Naoise: Now that you mention it... We often relaxed here whenever it came time for tea.
Seruel: It is wonderful to see that the garden's beauty has been restored to its former splendor.
Eyes brimming with emotion, Seruel looks out over the blooming flowers that surround them.
Seruel: The fountain was in shambles, and the plant life completely ruined when we first returned.
Naoise: One of the many victims of my failures... I have caused you and the people of this island much pain.
Seruel: If only someone hadn't broken his promise and left the island when he should have stayed.
Naoise: Ah... Regarding that...
Seruel: I was merely joking.
Seruel: I am content enough that we were able to meet again at all, thanks to (Captain)'s aid.
Naoise: I, too, am grateful... We owe the captain more than we can ever repay.
The two speak of the incident that occurred a while after Naoise joined (Captain)'s crew and Seruel met with (Captain) and friends for the first time.
Lyria: That's why we were wondering if the person Seruel has been searching for might be you, Naoise.
Naoise: Seruel is on this ship?
Naoise: Of all the things I never expected...
Lyria: I'm sorry to spring this on you, but (Captain)'s talking with Seruel right now and trying to get him to wait before...
Vyrn's Voice: Hey, didn't we tell you to hold your horses!
Seruel: ...!
Lyria: S-Seruel!
Vyrn: Sorry, we tried to tell 'im to give us some time, but...
Vyrn: The moment (Captain) said Naoise's name, he just rushed outta there.
Naoise: ...
Naoise: Seruel, I...
Right as Naoise is about to apologize, Seruel's next move stuns him into silence.
Naoise: ...!
With all the strength of a man who has found his lost brother, Seruel wraps his arms around Naoise and squeezes him in a tight embrace.
Seruel: ...
Seruel: I'm so glad you're all right...
Naoise: Seruel...
Seruel: There is a lot we need to speak about, but we can save that for later.
Seruel pulls away from Naoise, then turns to bow before (Captain).
Seruel: I thank you for allowing Naoise to accompany you on your journey all this time.
Seruel: Without your assistance, I might have lost my dear knight and friend forever.
Seruel: Truly... I owe you more than words can properly express, (Captain).
Seruel: (Captain)'s eyes went wide as saucers that day.
Seruel: I suspect that my show of respect came as somewhat of a surprise.
Naoise: Is that so?
Seruel: It is. The captain first met me when I was not at my finest, and my behavior left much to be desired.
Seruel: Reflecting on it now, the easygoing behavior of the captain and crew might have been what saved me from heading down a darker path.
Naoise: I feel very much the same way. (Captain) brought me onboard and never gave up on me, even when I wished to sink into despair.
Naoise: I can only pray that I am capable enough to repay their kindness and keep everyone safe throughout the rest of their journey.
Seruel: With peace and stability finally restored to Alster Island, we should soon be able to set a date for your return to the Grandcypher.
Seruel: I'm certain they already miss your coddling and courtly mannerisms.
Naoise: I imagine (Captain) would be overjoyed to have you and Heles come back as well.
Seruel: I do not doubt it. Besides, while you safeguard Lyria and accompany (Captain) to Estalucia...
Seruel: Someone has to look out for you.
Naoise: Seruel... It would be my honor to have you observe as I fulfill my promise this time!
Seruel: I eagerly anticipate it.
Wryly grinning, Seruel brings the teacup to his lips.
Heles: What do we have here? A tea party for two?
Seruel: Sister. Is there something you require of us?
Heles: That would depend on you. How do you imagine a sister might feel when she isn't invited to join her brothers?
Heles: You always did have a habit of leaving me out of the fun.
Naoise: My sincerest apologies, Heles! Wait a moment, I'll be right back with a cup for you...
Heles's words send Naoise rushing toward the kitchen.
Seruel: Sigh... And you, Sister, have always had a habit of teasing Naoise.
Heles: My comment was intended for you, but with Naoise forever at your side, I suppose I should have made myself more clear.
Seruel: Goodness gracious...
Heaving an exaggerated sigh, Seruel stands and gracefully pulls his empty chair out.
Seruel: My most beautiful and respected lady, please have a seat.
Heles: Very good. I shall gladly impose upon your kindness.
Inside the garden filled with childhood memories, Seruel, Heles, and Naoise enjoy a repose from their busy lives.
The deep bonds they have formed will surely carry them through whatever trials await on the road ahead.
