A Curious Invitation

Santa Claus appears before the crew amid their holiday preparations. Noticing Mahira's great interest in his sleigh, he offers the Divine General a chance to join him for a night of gift-giving. Mahira accepts and receives a holiday outfit for the occasion.

In preparation for the coming holidays, (Captain) and company spread out a piece of paper on the floor.
Lyria: Wow! So this is the blueprint for this year's holiday cake?
Mahira: Mm-hm. I heard we have lots of strawberries stored away, so I thought this would be the perfect occasion to use as many strawberries as we possibly can.
Mahira: Oh, here's a diagram showing where to cut the cake. As long as we split the cake evenly along those dotted lines, there should be no worry of it falling apart.
Vyrn: Gotta say I'm a big fan of your work, Mahira! Even the holiday tree has decorations up the wazoo.
Mahira: Hehe, I'm really proud of that too. The children in the crew help me put up those decorations.
Mahira: It's designed to be sturdy. Even if the Grandcypher's caught in a storm, the tree should be perfectly fine.
  1. Always appreciate the help, Mahira.
  2. You rock, Mahira.

Choose: Always appreciate the help, Mahira.

Mahira: Nuh-uh, you've helped me in more ways than I can count.
Mahira: Besides, I just love coming up with new inventions.

Choose: You rock, Mahira.

Mahira: Haha. It makes me proud to hear that from you, (Captain).
Mahira: I'm just doing what I love though. The fact that it benefits everyone is the cherry on top.

Lyria: I can't wait to see the completed cake! I bet even Santa Claus will be surprised!
Mahira: That sure would be nice. I have a lot of respect for the jolly old man.
Mahira: He's somehow able to give out all his presents in a single night, not to mention his mysterious flying sleigh...
Mahira: I wish I could see that sleigh up close. Maybe I'll get my chance this year...
The jingling of bells can be heard from outside the window.
Lyria: Wow... It's almost like he's here in response to us talking about him!
Santa Claus: Hohoho, happy holidays!
Santa Claus: I trust you've all been nice children this year?
Vyrn: Yep, there's not a naughty bone in us! How've you been, Kris Kringle?
Santa Claus: As fine as can be. The holiday season always lifts my spirits.
Santa revels in his reunion with the crew.
After taking a deep breath, he explains why he's come to pay everyone a visit.
Santa Claus: Once again, I'd like to ask for your help in preparation for the coming holidays.
Santa Claus: I ask you because I know you'll do a good job. Would you be up for it?
Vyrn: You bet we are! Right, (Captain)?
Vyrn: We've got a few members in the crew who were saying they'd love to help you out.
Lyria: Yeah, Mahira and I were just talking about you actually.
Vyrn: If you ask me, she's more interested in checking out the sleigh than in helping out.
Vyrn: But hey, why not kill two birds with one stone? I guess this works out perfectly for Mahira.
They survey their surroundings, only to realize that the Divine General is no longer with them.
Lyria: Huh? We were talking here just a moment ago...
Lyria: Where could Mahira have gone, after saying she wanted to meet Santa too...
Santa Claus: Hm... She'd like to take a look at my sleigh, you said?
Santa Claus: Perhaps she went off to do just that. My sleigh's currently on the deck.
Vyrn: Sounds about right...
Vyrn: Let's go check it out together!
(Captain) and company go out on deck to find Mahira already there, observing the sleigh with pen and paper in hand.
Mahira: Hm... In order to fly through the entire skydom in a single night, I would've expected there to be a giant propeller or gas tank...
Mahira: I don't exactly see enough space to store mountains of presents either.
Mahira: And it must be magic that allows the reindeer to fly... But what sort of magic would allow them to support this much weight?
Lyria: There you are! Hey, Mahira!
Mahira: Huh? Ah, the rest of you are here too.
Vyrn: We came lookin' for ya when we noticed you were gone.
Mahira: Oh, I'm sorry for making you worry.
Santa Claus: Hohoho, I couldn't be more pleased to see someone taking such interest in my sleigh.
Mahira looks curiously at the grinning figure towering over her.
Mahira: You must be Santa. I've heard about your exploits with the crew.
Mahira: There's a few things I've always wanted to ask you, so I'm glad we finally met.
Mahira: To start with, I was hoping you could tell me more about this sleigh, like the technology it uses and how it stores all the presents.
Santa scratches his head, unsure how to respond.
Santa Claus: Er... It's a bit hard to put into words.
Santa Claus: The sleigh moves by my magic, but I'm not sure I can tell you much more than that.
Mahira: A trade secret, huh? I see.
Santa Claus: That's one way of putting it. But it's more like I'm not sure how to explain it rather than it being a secret.
Santa Claus: On the other hand, you're more than welcome to inspect the sleigh as much as you'd like.
Mahira: Hm? Then you'd be okay with me taking it apart?
Santa Claus: Hohoho, I'm not too sure about that...
Santa Claus: How about you join me on the sleigh and help give out presents instead?
Mahira: You know... That might be the best way to figure out how this thing works.
After giving it a bit of thought, Mahira politely bows at Santa.
Mahira: I gladly take you up on your offer. Thank you kindly.
Santa Claus: Hohoho. I could use the help anyhow, so I'm happy to hear it.
Santa Claus: Maybe I can start off this year's gift-giving with yours.
With those words, Santa snaps his finger.
The next moment, Mahira is clad in a pure white outfit.
Lyria: Wow, Mahira! Your Santa outfit is adorable!
Mahira: Ooh... I like it. So this is the power of your magic, huh, Santa.
Mahira: Hehe, I can't wait for the holidays to actually begin.
Mahira gazes appreciatively at her new attire.
Her eyes are beaming with curiosity at the power of Santa's magic.
