Home Sweet Moon - Processing... Overclocked - Chapter 2: Point of No Return - Episode 3

The weapon was something created by the Foe over many long years of research to combat moondwellers. Eustace, realizing that an experiment for this device was what wiped out his village, flies off the handle at Heisenberg. Ronan shows up to restrain the Foe commander, reminding Eustace that he has something more important than revenge to focus on.

Eustace: ...
An unmistakable activation sound accompanies the flash of light.
Having lost all semblance of its original form, the plating now lies in tiny scattered pieces across a depression in the ground.
Heisenberg: You see that? That's our secret weapon.
Heisenberg: It rejects the bonding of physical matter and has the power to dissolve.
Heisenberg's voice grows distant as an indelible memory surfaces in Eustace's mind.
Eustace: ...
Heisenberg: By using this weapon, you will be able to nullify the regenerative capabilities of automagod armor. No automagod can—
Eustace: Where did you get this?
Heisenberg: Where, you ask? We developed it on our own through years of hard research.
Heisenberg: We conducted countless experiments, hoping we could come up with the means to fight back against the eventual attack by moondwellers.
Heisenberg: It wasn't until very recently that we refined our research into something of practical use.
Eustace: Experiments?
Still somewhat shaky, Eustace lowers his gun and takes a step toward Heisenberg.
Eustace: It was eighteen years ago... on a cold winter day. The ground was blanketed in snow.
Eustace: Do you remember?
Heisenberg: I have no idea what you're talking about.
Eustace: It happened on a small island in the northern reaches of Phantagrande. It's deserted now.
Heisenberg: An island, you say...
Eustace: It was home to a village so remote I doubt any map knew of its existence.
Eustace: Tell me...
Eustace: Is that why you chose it?
Heisenberg: No, you couldn't possibly be...
Eustace: That activation sound, that flash, the people and homes that crumbled like ash.
Eustace: I remember it all like it was yesterday!
Eustace turns his glare toward the dust that was once automagod plating.
Eustace: Though it seems back then, you hadn't yet perfected the technique to eliminate the target this quietly and efficiently.
Eustace: Your "experiments" must have been very fruitful.
Eustace: Especially the experiment that wiped out my homeland!
Met with Eustace's piercing glare again, Heisenberg breathes a deep sigh.
Heisenberg: ...
I'll admit it was fruitful indeed.
Eustace: Damn you!
Heisenberg: Ngh!
Eustace grabs Heisenberg by the neck and slams him against a tree.
Eustace: You disgusting piece of—
Heisenberg: You have every right to be angry, Eustace. But I ask that you calm down and listen.
Eustace: I'm done listening to you!
Heisenberg: Regardless of how this weapon was created, I assure you that it will save the skies. That is an unmistakable fact.
Heisenberg: If you allow the thirteenth automagod to arrive with no way of combating it...
Heisenberg: You would be condemning the lives of all skydwellers!
Heisenberg: Of course, that includes you and all your friends.
Eustace: ...
Heisenberg: Do you really want a repeat of the tragedy your village faced?
Eustace: You're the last person I want to hear that from! My home's destruction was your doing!
Heisenberg: That's precisely why I'm qualified to speak on this. My resolve on the matter will not change.
Heisenberg: I understand you hate me. You're free to exact revenge. Go ahead and kill me if you'd like.
Heisenberg: I only ask that you take the weapon. Use it, Eustace.
Heisenberg: Your village was a noble sacrifice. Don't let the many precious lives lost that day go to waste.
Eustace: A noble sacrifice? Precious lives?
Eustace: Don't talk as if you knew them!
???: Off to the forest again, Eustace? Be sure to come back before sundown.
???: I really wish you'd help with the chores sometimes, Eustace!
???: You're not gonna force your little bro to do all the wood chopping, are you?
???: C'mon, buddy, when are you gonna tell me your little secret?
???: Big Bro, I saw a white bird flying in the sky today. What kind of bird do you think it was?
???: When spring rolls around, you'll be at a good age to start hunting. I'll have to get you a new rifle.
Eustace: ...!
Eustace shoves Heisenberg to the ground, then points Flamek straight at his head.
Eustace: My father, mother, brother, sisters, friends... You slaughtered them all!
Eustace: You took everything from me!
Heisenberg: ...
Heisenberg: Take my weapon, Eustace. Protect the skies.
Eustace: Shut the hell up!
Eustace: I've had enough!
Responding to Eustace's furor, Flamek begins emitting an intense spark.
Eustace: Flamek Thunder—
Ronan: Eustace!
Eustace: !
Heisenberg: Ronan!
Ronan: Stop, both of you!
Ronan knocks Flamek away so that its muzzle is no longer pointed at Heisenberg.
Eustace: Ronan! What are you doing?
Ronan: I said, "Don't move!"
Ronan then proceeds to tackle Heisenberg back to the ground before restraining him.
Heisenberg: Rgh... What brings you here, Ronan?
Ronan: Eustace, put Flamek away.
Paying no heed to Heisenberg's words, Ronan directs his full attention to Eustace.
Eustace: You're no longer my superior. I have no obligation to take your orders anymore!
Ronan: Eustace.
Eustace: ...!
Why are you stopping me, Ronan!
Eustace: Out of the way! I have to do this!
Eustace: I've waited too long for this day!
Ronan: Is this really what you want, Eustace?
Ronan: I know you tried to become strong for the sake of revenge. And to that end, I helped you.
Ronan: But didn't you get to where you are now because you found something more valuable than revenge?
Eustace: ...
The conflicted man grits his teeth so hard that blood seeps out. He grips the tuft of hair covering his right eye.
