Falsetto in the Autumn Gray - Chapter 1: Verdant Lute Storyteller - Episode 3
After reconciling with You back on the Grandcypher, Sui tells stories of the crew as told to her by Kuzure, her father. He knew of those stories because of the jade flame—a power unique to the seventh royal family successors—to record the memories of places. Expressing her wish to experience those stories for herself, the crew offers to take Sui to see fireflies as their first destination.
You: Mng...
Societte: You? Everything okay?
Kou: I take it you regret shooing away Sui?
You: Bro Kou... You can tell what I'm thinking?
Kou: To an extent, yeah.
You: That means I can't hide things from you... Which isn't necessarily a bad thing though...
You: I didn't mean to kick her out... I just wanted her to give us some space...
Kou: Without knowing if she really is who she says she is, I think you were right to be cautious.
You: (That's true too, but not what I was getting at...)
You: (You know all about me, except for the feelings that count most...)

Vyrn: She pushed herself hard at the bar... Must be fatigue since she passed out all of a sudden.
Yuel: Yep, so we brought her with us. Plus a little something extra for everyone.

You: Er, but why milk? And how did she push herself to the limit?
Yuel: Sui put on a storytellin' show at the bar. Earned enough money to buy all the milk they had—said she wanted you to have it.

Sui: Sludge-sucking sharks in the sky... Mng!
Sui: Yawn... Huh? I'm back on the Grandcypher... We're not in Auguste?
Vyrn: I can't even imagine what you must've been dreamin' about...
Sui: Wahaha... I tell stories so often that I even do it in my dreams.

Yuel: She sniffed us out at the bar after leavin' the Grandcypher.

Sui begins playing notes on her lute.
A jade flame manifests, bringing out an abundance of treats.
Lyria: Wow! I love yummy snacks! Look, (Captain), we've had some of those before!
Societte: Bean curd... The fancy kind!
Kou: Wow. This tea is top-of-the-line stuff too. These leaves cost a pretty rupie...
You: More milk! Strawberry milk, fruit milk, and... Oh, I like the milk from this farm...
You: With this much milk, we can have a daily milk buffet!
You: Can we really have it all?
Sui: Mm-hm, that's the point! This should've been the first thing I did... Sorry I got the order backwards!
Sui: Consider it my apology. I'm a bit socially awkward, so I can't always judge the intimacy between people...

Playing her lute, Sui repeats the story she had told Vyrn and Yuel earlier at the bar.
All are astonished by how she can recite exact quotes uttered in past situations.
You: How... How do you know so much about me and Bro Kou?

Societte: More than that... She knows things that only someone who was actually there would know...
Kou: Only Kuzure or anyone else who's inherited his power can do such a thing...

Kou: His flame has the power to record events that take place at any location it illuminates.
You: Is that how it works? When I stole his power, no wonder that old hag Ninetails told me not to use it too much...
Kou: Chances are she was afraid of you recording too much info.
Yuel: I had no idea that flame power was a thing either. That's why I was so suspicious of Sui the moment she brought up our past in such detail.
Vyrn: I wasn't too sure at first either, but she made me a believer when she started recordin' the stories of the bar itself with her flames.
Yuel: Come to think of it, we don't really know the powers of the other royal families, do we?
Kou: Same here... I only know what Ninetails was willing to share with me.
Kou: Anyhow, we can probably assume that Kuzure has shared all the stories in his collection with Sui.
Sui: Ding, ding, ding, bingo

Amid their heartwarming conversation, Yuel whispers to the rest of the crew.
Yuel: Kou and You were so on edge about the freak of nature that they haven't been able to relax.
Societte: Yeah... I thought the same.
Societte: I agree we need to be alert, but staying tense all the time can't be good for anyone.
Yuel: It's a good thing Sui came into the picture. Since they're close in age, an outing with her ought to clear their heads a bit.
Lyria: That's a great idea! But what about the freak of nature?
Yuel: Of course, we'll keep our eyes peeled.
Yuel: Me and Vyrn heard somethin' worrying from Buck Bronco at the bar though.
Vyrn: People all over the skies have reported an uptick in the number of folks suddenly going missin'.
Vyrn: They disappear in pairs, especially married couples and siblings.
Lyria: I wonder if the freak of nature has something to do with it...
Yuel: Can't be sure... Though You did say that the creature kept ramblin' about love when it targeted them.
Societte: Yeah... We'll have to keep a close watch of the kids.
Yuel: For sure. What those two have been through is bad enough already. It's on us to protect 'em.
(Captain) nods in agreement, ready for duty as both captain and friend.
