Created by the Stars, Loved by the Skies - The Sky's Future - Chapter 4: The World's Answer - Episode 2

Geo scoffs at Rosetta's remark and asserts that primals can never truly adapt to the Sky Realm because they are bound by their roles. As Geo and Lyria debate the point, Cosmos suddenly appears in a flash of light.

Geo: Each primal beast is given a purpose—a reason to live—from the moment they're created.
Geo: No matter much we struggle, any reminder of our duty serves as shackles to bind us.
Geo contorts his face as he continues.
Geo: Singularity, Girl in Blue... You mentioned seeing the War and its aftermath.
Geo: Then you should know just as well as I do...
Geo: How much adversity primals have had to face just to survive.
Geo: Completely drained from being forced to fulfill their roles...
Geo: And from their huge fundamental difference with mortals...
Geo: Battle was the only recourse of countless primals.
Geo: And I could hear it every step of the way—their screams, prayers, wishes...
Zooey: Geo, it seems your manifestation in this world is a natural response to the primal beasts' lament after all.
Geo: You can say that again!
Geo: My existence here is proof of that!
Geo: Having their wishes trampled over, again and again, in this cruel world...
Geo: I manifested in order to save them all! That's my duty!
Lyria: Wait!
Lyria: It's true we saw lots of primal beasts suffering.
Lyria: But even during hard times, they'd do their best to think of how to work together with people...
Lyria: I saw so many primals make it all the way to today because of those efforts!
Geo: Though they wouldn't have succeeded entirely on their own. Cosmos's arbitration often played a role. Am I right?
Lyria: Ah...
Geo chuckles at Lyria's startled expression.
Geo: Haha, that's what I figured!
Geo: The world is only able to exist as it does right now thanks to Cosmos's arbitration!
Geo: You two are the ones who denied her power of arbitration and shook her faith in her very existence.
Geo: Without Cosmos, what happens to the world... What happens to primal beasts!
Lyria: But think about what Cosmos is going through!
Geo: Huh?
Lyria: Cosmos has done her job of arbitration alone for a very, very long time!
Lyria: Maybe it's time she didn't have to—
Geo: Don't make me laugh.
Geo: You want to save Cosmos too? Just how arrogant can you get!
Geo: The very notion that being liberated of their duties will bring primal beasts happiness couldn't be more frivolous!
Lyria: N-no, that's not it!
Lyria: I understand there were many who felt trapped between their duties and aspirations.
Lyria: But I don't think having a duty to fulfill in itself is a bad thing!
Freyr: ...?
Lyria: Lucifer and Cosmos also had a discussion about this.
Lyria: They wondered if primal beasts' given roles were a cause of their suffering.
Lyria: But I think there's more to it.
Lyria: Having a role is fine.
Lyria: Yet at the same time, primals are so much more than their roles!
Zooey: Lyria?
Lyria: The Astrals that created the primals have mostly left ever since the War ended.
Lyria: If those given roles are such a burden, why not just forget about them?
Lyria: But if, on the other hand, they take pride in those roles, there's nothing wrong with working at them either.
Lyria: And of course, finding other goals or things to do beyond that is perfectly fine too!
Lyria: Praying for their own future or the happiness of that special someone is just as okay.
Lyria: Because in the end, whether you're a primal or a person, that's what it means to be alive.
Lyria: Duty, hopes, aspirations... It's okay to have them all!
Lyria: That's why you, me—
Geo: Enough of your sophistry! That's just your twisted way of excusing the way things work!
Geo: No matter how flattering you try to put it, some things in this world never change!
Lyria: But Geo... You want to change those things, don't you?
Geo: ...!
Geo's eyes open wide at the realization.
Lyria: You wish to change this world in which primals experience so much hardship...
Lyria: That's where your sadness stems from, doesn't it?
Geo: Stop it!
Geo: No... That's not it! I...
Zooey: !
A radiant beam of light suddenly pierces the sky.
Medusa: What the... You guys feel that?
Nezha: Yes. It was an odd sensation.
Zooey: The rest of you felt it as well? That was probably—
Lyria: Eep!
Cosmos: Ah, as I thought...
Cosmos: Simply asking the singularity to make the choice was not enough.
Once the mysterious flash of light fades, a mysterious woman stands before the crew.
Zooey: Why have you...
Geo: Cosmos!
Medusa: Cosmos? Her?
Cosmos: I am Cosmos, the primal beast of arbitration.
Cosmos: I've come from the Astral Realm to fulfill my duty.
