Monika is a jack-of-all-trades who fills multiple roles based on the Linked Skill she uses. Besides her skills, she is also a reliable attacker and debuffer thanks to Violetshock Flicker, which deals decent damage and inflicts ATK Down (Stackable)ATK is lowered (Stackable)
and DEF Down (Stackable)DEF is lowered (Stackable)
every time she dodges or uses her charge attack.

Strengths

  • Flexible party member who can do all of the following, based on the Linked Skill used:

Weaknesses

  • Less reliable for dodge-tanking than her Arcarum version since she only gains Dodge Rate UpChance to dodge DMG and debuffs

  • Reaching maximum effect on her skills takes at least 8 turns each.
  • All skills are linked with each other, so you can't get more than one skill's effect before they come off cooldown.

How to Play

Because all of Monika's skills are linked, she is a very hands-off character; beyond using a skill every four turns, you just let Monika roll and do her thing. Due to her quick charge bar gain, placing her in second position is recommended so she provides the rest of the party with charge bar with every charge attack.

Much of Monika's damage will come from Violetshock Flicker activations, which is easily done thanks to her her high dodge and charge attack rate.

Using her skills:

Full Auto

, and because her skills are all linked, she will only use Winds of White Wings. With her ATK and DEF Down debuffs tied to dodges and charge attacks instead of a skill, that means her roles as a buffer and debuffer are guaranteed.

One-Turn Kill

Although Monika's full strength comes out in longer battles where she can gain all of her skills' effects, she is also highly useful in One-Turn Kill (OTK) parties. Because Violetshock Flicker activates after her C.A., she has higher damage potential than other characters, and it helps reach DEF Down cap if you don't already reach it.

may be invaluable in helping the party deal more damage. Even if the enemy survives the attack phase, Monika will very likely activate Violetshock Flicker again at the end of the enemy phase to edge in some more damage.

In Full Auto OTK teams, Monika being limited to one skill lowers the amount of time taken on skills and thus makes each run faster.

Synergy

  • Because of how well-rounded Monika is, she works in nearly any team composition and with any character.
  • Her damage on its own is average—the rate at which she outputs damage is what makes it impressive—so she appreciates any kind of ATK buff and damage cap boosts she can get.
  • Her dodge rate is somewhat unreliable once the buffs from  Sky CommandUpon Monika using a skill: Gain Guaranteed TAGuaranteed triple attack regardless of Triple Attack Lowered debuffs
