| A merman that makes his home in the depths of the Auguste sea. Though himself once a resident of the Daitetsusan Archipelago, persecution from the islanders who called him a monster drove him to escape into the sea. As he grew, so did his enmity toward people, one day leading him to attack Daitetsusan. However, his assault was thwarted by the powerful sumo warrior Yokozuna. Pride bruised by his defeat at the hands of a being he thought himself stronger than, the king asked Yokozuna to teach him the ways of sumo. The sumo warrior took him under his wing, but despite learning the techniques, the merfolk king could not best his master. To get the upper hand, he sank the island that they dueled on, but Yokozuna responded by handing him a resounding defeat. As he recovered from his wounds, the merfolk king stewed in his resentment toward Yokozuna, and spent his time researching ways to get stronger for their inevitable rematch. Vexed and confused over the long absence of his former teacher, he took to sinking the boats of Yokozuna's blood relatives to coax him into a bout. His wife was a fish, and passed shortly after giving birth to Thalassa. |
