As always, this year's Valentine's Day is a big affair on the Grandcypher.
While sweet aromas waft throughout the ship, three people chat amicably as they wrap chocolates.
Drusilla: Thank you both so much!
Drusilla: Because of your help, this year's chocolates are just as good as the last! They're perfect for (Captain)!
Ladiva: Hehe, pat yourself on the back too, dear. We teach you new things every year, and you always pick them up so quickly.
De La Fille: I'm confident (Captain) will be happy with these results.
Drusilla: Ehehe, I appreciate the kind words!
The three launch into a conversation about when to gift their chocolates, as well as different chocolate-making techniques.
A little while into the discussion, Drusilla scrunches her eyebrows together and brings up a new subject.
Drusilla: I feel like there's someone super deserving of a gift that I've forgotten about.
Ladiva: Did you make a new friend? We've certainly had more and more people join the crew over time... Or are you talking about someone we met along the way?
Drusilla: No... I'm thinking of a friend that's been with us this whole time...
Drusilla: The Grandcypher!
Caught off guard by the unexpected response, Ladiva and De La Fille blink a couple of times.
Ladiva: I see... Now that you mention it, we haven't prepared anything for her.
De La Fille: To think we overlooked such a precious companion...
Drusilla: It'd be terrible to leave out any crewmate, especially her!
Drusilla: Besides, we owe her a lot for everything she does for us!
Ladiva: You couldn't be more right.
Ladiva: She's carried us through thick and thin—a true ally of love!
Monika: What's with all the commotion over here?
Drusilla: Monika!
Drusilla fills Monika in about her plans to prepare a Valentine's gift for their beloved Grandcypher.
Drusilla: Oh, yeah! You should help us come up with something!
Monika: A crew should never forget to give thanks to their faithful ship.
Monika: Which is why I would be more than happy to assist.
Drusilla: Hooray! Oh, this is going to be the greatest Valentine's ever!
Monika: But before anything else, we should go have a chat with (Captain)!

Vyrn: Phew... That's all for this year's requests!
Lyria: Good work, (Captain)! We've gathered enough chocolate!
Petra: Hehe, the work you've done here will bring happiness to others. Very commendable.
Petra: It makes reading the winds leading to Chocolae Island that much more enjoyable!
As is customary every year, (Captain) and crew have traveled to Chocolae Island on a number of requests.
Monika and Drusilla come sprinting up to the group right as they wrap up.
Monika: (Captain), a moment of your time, if you please. We'd like to discuss something with you.
Drusilla: It's about giving the Grandcypher a Valentine's Day gift!
(Captain) listens to Drusilla's explanation and gives an approving nod. The others excitedly express their own interest as well.
Petra: What a wonderful idea! I would love to assist in any way I can!
Lyria: Yeah, me too! I definitely don't want to miss out on giving a gift to the Grandcypher!
Vyrn: But what's the present gonna be? Pretty sure the Grandcypher can't eat chocolate.
Drusilla: That's what we're stuck on... It'd be nice to work together on something with a Valentine-y feel...
Taking in Drusilla's words, the group spends a little while brainstorming.
Monika: What about decorating the inside of the ship?
Monika: We can use heart-shaped ornaments to keep everything in the spirit of Valentine's. How does that sound?
Petra: Oh, and it's something we can all work on together too!
Lyria: The perfect idea that covers both bases! I love it!
Drusilla: Then it's decided! I'll go ask everyone else if they want to pitch in!

Danua: De La Fille... How's this?
De La Fille: My, my, Danua. You've got a knack for this.
De La Fille: Your lines are very straight... Once you feel a little more confident, why not try more detailed stitches?
Danua: Okay, more details!
Under De La Fille's skilled instruction, Danua throws herself into making ornaments.
Anna and Ladiva watch over the two as they chip away at their own work.
Ladiva: Hehe, it's so easy to lose track of time when we're having this much fun together.
Anna: It's usually only Nightmare and me when we get ready for Valentine's, but...
Anna: This is kind of fun too.
Ladiva: Working alone and working together both have their own lovely merits.
Ladiva: Oh! Looks like Danua needs to speak with you.
Danua: Anna... For you!
Danua holds out a small, heart-shaped hair ornament.
Anna: Wow, it's very cute... Did you make this?
De La Fille: She did. It was a little test before she moved on to the real deal.
De La Fille: She'd like for you to have it. What do you say?
Danua: We can... match!
Anna: Thank you, Danua!
Anna: Ehehe, how do I look?
Danua: Good! Cute!
Ladiva: A heartfelt gift, and two lovelies with matching ornaments—what a treat to witness!
De La Fille: Hehe, they make quite a pair. We should keep the good energy going.
De La Fille: The sooner we finish, the sooner the Grandcypher can join the club and show off her own cute side!

The crew relaxes in the Grandcypher's lounge after finishing an assignment.
Drusilla and Monika, dressed in her magical girl outfit, approach (Captain) and the others.
Drusilla: Hey, everyone! These are for you!
Monika: We already have enough for the rest of the ship, so use these for your rooms.
Vyrn: Whoa, nice! (Captain), we should hang 'em on your door!
Lyria: Hehe, the ship's going to be packed with hearts if everyone puts ornaments in their rooms too!
Lyria: I can almost feel the Grandcypher's excitement!
Drusilla: Your idea was beyond perfect, Monika! Worthy of a true magical girl!
Monika: Haha, I'm not so sure about that...
Monika: But I'm glad it worked out.
Medusa: Hmph... Do they really think I'd let another magical girl outdo me?
Peeking out from her room, Medusa watches the group secretly.
Medusa: As if! They need a reminder that a mortal doesn't hold a candle to me!
Medusa: I'll give them something to actually gush about!
Elmelaura: Yes, that's the spirit!
Medusa: Gyah!
Medusa: Wh-what the heck! Don't sneak up on me like that!
Elmelaura: Ahhh, I'm sorry! I just couldn't help myself when I sensed your ambition!
Elmelaura's large spectacles glint in the light as she speaks.
Elmelaura: Honest, I just can't contain myself! If there's anything I can do to give you a hand, please let me know!
Medusa: Hmm, you serious? I'd be fine on my own, but...
Medusa: If you insist, I won't say no to free help!
Pointing a finger forward, Medusa continues.
Medusa: You'd better see things through to the end now that you've agreed!
Medusa: We're going to give every crewmate a surprise for the ages!
Elmelaura: You can count on me! My taste buds, nose, and big knife are second to none!
Elmelaura: I'll garnish your Valentine's with the kick it needs!

Medusa: Think we're nearly done grabbing everything on the shopping list. Let's move on to the next place.
Lyria: Okay! Thanks for keeping track, Medusa!
Vyrn: Gotta say, it's kinda weird for you to volunteer for shopping duty.
Medusa: I-it's not weird at all! I'm always helping you guys out, aren't I?
Vyrn: Uh, are you?
Medusa: Of course I am!
Medusa: (Geez... That was close. Hopefully I managed to throw them off the scent.)
Medusa: (Can't let them know I'm looking for the perfect Valentine's idea, otherwise it won't be much of a surprise.)
While Medusa discreetly casts her gaze around, Dorothy runs up to (Captain) with puffed cheeks.
Dorothy: Master, you won't believe this! Claudia's being mean!
Dorothy: I was trying to make a life-sized chocolate statue of you in all your glory...
Dorothy: I even bought a huge chunk of chocolate for it! But Claudia won't let me do it!
Claudia: I am not being mean. Just who do you think will end up cleaning the mess you make?
Claudia: Making it and eating it is too much for one person alone.
Teena: Ahaha, you make a good point there...
Teena: Wait, Dorothy, you already procured the chocolate?
Dorothy: Yeah, that's why I'm kinda panicking! What am I supposed to do with it all if I can't make the statue?
Teena: Hmm... Can't exactly keep it for long on the ship either.
Teena: You'll want to use it up somehow before it goes bad...
The group continue to shop around, checking items off their list as they go.
On one street, a sweet aroma wafts throughout the air.
Lyria: Mmm... Something smells really good!
Teena: Oh, look over there! That confectionary shop has a big bowl of chocolate out front!
Dorothy: Must be chocolate fondue!
Claudia: A clever use of otherwise wasted shavings and substandard products to please the children.
Lyria: Mmm, it looks super tasty! (Captain), can we please try a little?
Lured by the sweet chocolate scent, the group approaches the fondue bowl.
Medusa: (Hmm, so this is chocolate fondue? You put all your chocolate into a big bowl and...)
Medusa: That's it!
A bright gleam shines in Medusa's eyes as she comes to a realization.
Medusa: Hey, everyone! Remember all that chocolate you were worried about going to waste?
Medusa: Why don't you let me handle it?

Elmelaura: I see! So you want to make a gigantic bowl of chocolate fondue!
Medusa: That's right. It's the ultimate surprise that everyone can enjoy together.
Medusa: Which means we need a bowl big enough to fill an entire room!
Elmelaura: Hmm... Mhmm! A room filled with melted chocolate... Almost like a spring of gooey goodness!
Elmelaura: Between the flavor and the size, it'll be a one-of-a-kind experience!
Elmelaura: But you know what... Why don't we take it a step further and make it a chocolate fountain?
Medusa: A what? What're you talking about?
At Medusa's questioning, Elmelaura puffs her chest out in pride.
Elmelaura: Why, it's a close cousin of fondue. The only difference is that you make it flow like a water fountain!
Elmelaura: The presentation'll be a treat for the eyes, while the sweet melty goodness takes care of the taste buds.
Medusa: Like a water fountain, huh? You mortals sure know how to come up with some interesting ideas.
Medusa: I'm all for it, but I don't know the first thing about building one.
Elmelaura: Hehehe, it just so happens I know exactly the people for the job!
Soon after, the people in question are gathered inside the ship's storeroom.
Elmelaura: And that's the plan. How about it? Want to help us create the best Valentine's Day ever?
Hallessena: Heeheehee! Now that's a crazy request! My fingers are already itching to get to work!
Hallessena: Cailana! You brought the thing, right?
Cailana: Sure did! Ta-da!
Cailana: Here's the fountain I used before for my Valentine's Day with (Captain)!
Pengy: Okay! We can use this one as a model and base our super cool big version on it!
Pengy: This is gonna be so pengyriffic! Pengtastic to the max! Can we start already?
Cailana: Ahaha, I can't wait to see how it turns out. I can already imagine the big waves it'll make!
Hallessena: Heeheehee! You can leave everything to us!
Hallessena: It'll be the craziest, loveliest fountain you've ever seen! Right, Pengy?
Pengy: For sure! We've got the power to make this the best party ever!
Using Cailana's fountain as a guide, Hallessena and Pengy waste no time getting down to business.
The fountain is soon on its way to completion, thanks to the two talented and passionate inventors on the job.

Not much time remains before the chocolate fountain is finished.
In preparation for the big day, Medusa requests several crewmates to prepare sweets for the occasion.
Teena: Dorothy, these cookies just came out of the oven! I'll put them here!
Dorothy: Thank you, thank you! You've got a pretty good knack for baking!
Teena: Hehe, I like cooking, so I've had my fair share of practice.
Teena: Lucius always says he's fine with whatever... But I'd like him to eat something nice every once in a while.
Dorothy: Yeah, I get exactly what you mean! I always end up trying that much harder when there's someone I wanna treat!
Claudia: While I'm glad you're full of fire... This has become an ordeal equally as trying as making the statue would have been.
Claudia: I need more sleep to get ready for the amount of cleaning that awaits... Yawn...
Dorothy: What! Claudia! Don't just leave!
On the table before (Captain) and friends, Magisa and Mishra skillfully arrange an assortment of sweets.
Magisa: Don't you worry about a thing. My baking skills are quite formidable.
Magisa: Besides, it wouldn't do for mages like us to leave the heavy lifting to the magical girls, now would it?
Mishra: Medusa did promise she would teach me all about magical girls in exchange for my help.
Mishra: In order to learn the secret behind attracting the attention of the masses, I will do my utmost to fulfill my end of the bargain.
Vyrn: Whew... These two seem like they can bake some tasty stuff!
Lyria: Hehe, time to try it!
Excited by the confidence of the two women and the alluring sweet aromas of the baked goods, (Captain) and friends drool in anticipation.
But Mishra speaks up before they can dig in.
Mishra: By the way, (Captain), would you mind keeping these two cookie types side by side on the day of?
Vyrn: Huh? Does placement really matter?
Mishra: Not exactly, but I believe eating these two together should produce a pleasant result...
Mishra: Placing them next to each other creates a higher chance that they'll be eaten in a pair, don't you think?
Magisa: An excellent setup, I'd say. Now I'm curious to see what will happen.
Magisa: I wonder if I should cast a bit of magic on (Captain)'s share as well...
Vyrn: Uh... (Captain), I think this taste testin' business is gonna be more serious than we thought...
Lyria: W-we should taste everything and make sure it's safe to eat!
With an uneasy smile, (Captain) gives a hesitant nod.

The chocolate fountain is finally completed.
Nearly tall enough to touch the ceiling, its flowing chocolate streams are an impressive sight to behold.
Drusilla: Wow, this is amazing! I almost can't believe it's real!
Ladiva: How marvelous! Between the sweet, sweet chocolate and the hearts filling the ship...
Ladiva: It's one of the most passionate displays of love I've ever seen!
De La Fille: Indeed, it's the perfect amount of extravagance for a celebration that only comes around once a year.
Elmelaura: To go along with the chocolate spring, I pulled a lot of strings and managed to get...
Elmelaura yanks off a white cloth covering the table, revealing a colorful assortment of juicy fruits.
Elmelaura: These!
She kicks the table, and the fruits are sent flying into the air.
In a flash, Elmelaura's knife slices everything into perfect pieces, which all land in a large ice-filled bowl.
Elmelaura: Please enjoy these high quality beauties!
Lyria: Hnng, I can't wait any longer! (Captain), let's go eat already!
Vyrn: Hey, there're apples too! Gonna be hard to pick a place to start from, huh?
Medusa: Hehe, everyone's totally obsessed with the fountain! But I guess it's no surprise, since I'm the one who set it up!
Medusa: Well, Monika? Blown away yet?
While Medusa smugly grins, Monika gives a serious nod.
Monika: I sure am. My plan alone wouldn't have been enough for a Valentine's of this scale.
Monika: Thank you for your help, Medusa.
Medusa: Heh, hehe! What're you being all modest for?
Medusa: Not like I was trying to help you!
Medusa: I did it to prove I'm better!
Desperately trying to hide her happiness at being thanked, Medusa grabs Monika by the hand and drags her into the crowd.
Medusa: But since this ended in a stalemate, we need a rematch!
Medusa: Time to see who's the better magical girl for Valentine's!
Drusilla: Ohhh! A battle between magical girls? I want to see!
Monika: H-hold on! You want to do it in front of everyone?
Medusa: Duh! We can't prove who's more magical without a panel of judges!
Monika: Just don't make me strike any weird poses! Please, I beg of you!
Lyria: Hehe, everyone's having so much fun. This Valentine's is a little different than usual, but it's nice this way too!
Petra: I couldn't agree more. And I don't think we're the only ones who feel that way.
Petra: Listen. This warmth, this kindness... Can you feel it in the wind?
(Captain) takes heed of the sounds coming from beyond the party's hustle and bustle.
Just as Petra said, the breeze flowing past the Grandcypher's sails is comforting and light, as if the ship is celebrating alongside her crew.

Love is in the air on the Grandcypher as the the ladies of the crew prepare for Valentine's Day.
Amidst the commotion, four figures can barely be seen, prowling beneath the shadows.
Farrah: So. The rumors. Are they true?
Mary: Yeah. I've got good word from Chocolae Island's head honcho himself.
Aliza: I guess that puts things in motion for us! You've already ironed everything out with (Captain), right?
Sarya: Yes, ma'am! In fact, (Captain) was saying how nice it'd be to—
Shalem: You're all acting awfully suspicious.
Sarya: Eep! Sh-Shalem?
Farrah: G-geez, it's rude to sneak up on people like that, you know!
Shalem: You're one to speak, hiding in the shadows like this. What are you all plotting here? And how can I join?
Aliza: Okay, okay! You can join—just pipe down, all right? Now follow me.
Aliza quickly breaks down the situation for Shalem.
Shalem: A chocolate sprite who appears only before those with heartfelt feelings... "Chocolate Memory"?
Aliza: That's right. And if you're able to find this sprite, the legends speak of the Heartfelt Chocolate—an ingredient like none other.
Aliza: Sharing this chocolate with someone special will bring forth a heartfelt memory shared between you both.
Shalem: I see. However, Valentine's Day is already upon us. Isn't it too late?
Mary: On the contrary! The Chocolate Memory can only be found right after Valentine's Day!
Mary: Such a rare opportunity doesn't come knocking that often, so we've had to build our own door for this one!
Farrah: Heh-heh... My feelings are the real deal. There's no way it won't show itself to me!
Sarya: The Chocolate Memory only appears before those with pure, heartfelt feelings. Isn't that just the most romantic thing ever?
Shalem: I see. The lengths people will go to satisfy their desires is awe-inspiring.
Shalem: Fascinating. Count me in.
Mary: Hmm... The more people we get involved, the harder it'll be to keep our plan under wraps, but...
Mary: One more person should be fine. The more hands we have on deck, the better, right? Let's do this thing!
Sarya: I've already confirmed with (Captain) about docking at Chocolae Island.
Sarya: It seems that our interests have aligned with the captain's and Lyria's. That chocolate's as good as ours!
Shalem: How reassuring. Let's go find the captain then, shall we?

Juri: A rare chocolate sprite?
Stan: Yeah. Apparently it gives you some sort of extraordinary chocolate to give to someone special in your life.
Stan: The thing is, Aliza's already given me chocolate for Valentine's Day this year.
Stan: Could it be... that there's somebody else? Juri, what do you know about this?
Juri: N-nothing! If you're so worried, why don't you just ask her about it yourself?
Stan: As if I could do something so utterly terrifying! Say... Could you ask her for me?
Juri: Huh? Wh-why me? I'm no good with this... love stuff!
Stan: But aren't you curious? I mean, Farrah was there too!
Juri: Yeah, she's obviously gunning for Katalina, isn't she? Nothing new there...
Stan: I suppose you're right... Either way, help me out—please!
Barawa: I've heard enough!
Juri: Uwaugh! B-Barawa?
Barawa: Hah hah hah! Sorry, did I frighten you? Couldn't help myself... not after catching a whiff of mystery in the air!
Barawa: And I have a hunch... that you boys have found yourselves lost in the bittersweet labyrinth of young love!
Stan: Really? I feel so much better now that you're on the case!
Juri: But I wouldn't call it a labyrinth, exactly—
Barawa: So! It would appear that the game is indeed afoot! I'll round up the cavalry, so stay right there!
Barawa: It seems my trusty assistant Sarya has taken the day off, but worry not! I've found us some new assistants that will surely get the job done!
Syr: Mary's been acting awfully strange lately, but she won't tell me why! But together we could figure something out... Maybe...
Dusty: Meow.
Barawa: There you have it. Syr and Dusty, who I coaxed into joining us with a little help from some dried sardines!
Barawa: Perfect. A master sleuth, a young boy, and a cat—just like the lovable ragtag cast of the thrilling novel I've had my nose in lately!
Barawa: Shall we begin, gentlemen?
However, before Barawa can take another step, the walls suddenly reveal another person in the room.
Chat Noir: Haven't you forgotten one thing, Detective?
Barawa: The Phantom Thief... You've got some nerve, revealing yourself before me! I oughta detain you, right here and now!
Chat Noir: Heh heh... Not so fast. I think we could both benefit from this little situation here.
Chat Noir: Not to mention this will give me excellent data for future Phantom Thief jobs.
Barawa: Don't waste your breath—I'll have you in handcuffs soon enough!
Chat Noir: Temper, temper, Detective. If you truly intend to unravel the mysteries of love, you'll need as much manpower as you can get.
Barawa: Don't play games with me—I've already assembled the finest team available!
Chat Noir: If I'm not mistaken, didn't the detective in your novel team up with a thief from time to time?
Barawa: Hmph... A truce it is! But once this mystery is solved, I'm taking you in—understood?
Chat Noir: I'm simply delighted we could come to an agreement, mon chéri.
Juri: We've asssembled quite the... entourage.
Stan: Yeah, well... The more the merrier, or something like that. Right?
Although they attempt to conceal it, the worry on Stan and Juri's faces is clear as day.

The next day, (Captain) and the others dock the Grandcypher at Chocolae Island.
Lyria: According to the head of the island, the chocolate memory can be found near that spring!
Aliza: Perfect. We've got plenty of daylight to burn, so let's take it easy!
Farrah: I've packed us some lunches, so let's have them once we secure the chocolate.
Shalem: Why can't we just have them now? I'm already... Huh?
As if detecting something, Shalem turns around to look behind her.
Sarya: What's wrong, Shalem?
Shalem: Nothing... Let's get moving, shall we?
Chat Noir: Phew... It seems we were undetected. Good thing I brought my handy camoflauge sheet!
Juri: Military grade, impressive.
I think I saw my life flash before my eyes when Shalem looked my way...
Juri: We're entering the forest after this, so it should be easier to remain undetected, but I'm still worried...
Syr: Say no more, Juri! I'll go on ahead and find us some good hiding spots!
Chat Noir: I usually work solo, but this is quite the impressive team! Stan, are you ready?
Stan: Yeah... We'll see once and for all if this so-called "Chocolate Memory" is even real.
Stan: (And what Aliza has to say to it...)
Chocolate Memory: ...
Aliza: Are you... the chocolate memory?
The chocolate sprite nods in response.
Aliza: We want to share your chocolate with our crew.
Aliza: And, well... there's someone special I'd like to share this with. So please!
Chocolate Memory: ...!
The chocolate memory begins glowing radiantly upon hearing Aliza's earnest words.
In a blinding flash of light, its figure vanishes, leaving behind several large chunks of chocolate.
Mary: Wow... so the rumors were true after all!
Sarya: Your words managed to do the trick, Aliza. And with this much, we'll have enough for everyone!
Shalem: Sweet victory indeed. However, hunger strikes.
Lyria: Now that you mention it... Should we take a break for lunch?
Aliza and the others leave the spring in search of a place to have a picnic.
Stan: (So Aliza really is looking to give that chocolate to someone special, huh...)
Stan: (What do I do if that person turns out to be someone else completely?)
Stan stands pensively in the spring, alone with his thoughts.

Lyria: Here's your chocolate, (Captain)! This one's just for you.
Lyria: Hehe... Cooking together like this is nice, isn't it?
Barawa: So they've procured the goods, eh? And now they've taken their schemes to the kitchen.
Barawa: We'll need to rely on stealth! Unfortunately, my body is simply too large for such maneuvers... Syr, you're up!
Syr: Roger that!
Vira: I do hope you all had a pleasant journey. As you can see, I've reserved the kitchen quarters.
Lyria: Thank you so much, Vira!
Vira: Think nothing of it. Now then, hopefully we can wrap this up before Katalina returns.
Mary: I'll let the others who couldn't join us know. Go ahead and start without me!
Syr: They shouldn't be able to see me from here... I just need to get a little closer...
Mary: What the—Syr, what are you doing down here?
Syr: Ack! M-Mary, uh...
Mary: Wait a minute... Were you spying on me?

Eustace: What's gotten you so sentimental?
Eustace: But first it was ramen, and now chocolate... Is he trying to round himself out again?
Dusty: Mew...
Barawa: I see... It seems I'd neglected to take into consideration the fact that we can't understand you, Dusty.
Barawa: Which leaves us with... you!
Barawa: Chat Noir! Put on whatever disguise you've prepared for this case and do your thing!
Chat Noir: A disguise, you say... Whatever should I put on for you, Detective?
Barawa: Er... Just, uh, put on something that makes you look less suspicious!

The two would-be sleuths have a postmortem over the events that transpired.

Juri: But whatever could she want to keep from you of all people?
Juri: You know, I think a direct approach here would be best. Instead of snooping around, why don't you confront her one-on-one?
Stan: We've already made it this far, right? Screw it, let's go for broke! I'll just ask Aliza—
Aliza: Stan, Juri! I've been looking all over for you two.
Stan: A-Aliza? Wh-why are you here?
Aliza: Have you forgotten what day it is? We made chocolate gateau, so take some.

Farrah: And right before her eyes, a chocolate sprite appeared and bestowed upon her a one of a kind chocolate.
Farrah: When she used it to bake a cake, it didn't taste like cake at all.
Farrah: In fact, it tasted like the chocolate pudding she made for her lover on their first Valentine's Day together.
Farrah: Thanks to the heartfelt flavor they shared through their memories, they were able to live happily ever after! That's how the story goes, at least.
Juri: Hmm... I see. So since it requires a shared memory, you wouldn't be able to use it to profess your love for someone.
Juri: Rather, it's to relive a memory with someone important to you. Is that right?

One day just before Valentine's Day, the Grandcypher sits anchored on Chocolae Island.
However, this time (Captain) and the crew are not there on their usual visit to gather ingredients for chocolate.
Lyria: It's true. I don't see a single chocolate sprite anywhere...
Io: Is this really Chocolae Island?
Lecia: It seems the intel I received wasn't an exaggeration... Well, there should be a member of the Crew of Enforcers waiting for us just up the road. Let's go.
Lecia strides off, her expression grim. Having come to Chocolae Island at her request, (Captain) and the crew follow after her.
Lecia: Once again, let me share with you what I know.
Lecia: We received a report from Wales—the country currently overseeing the island—that the chocolate sprites here are being monopolized.
Lecia: Thankfully, we were notified soon after the situation arose and were able to act quickly...
Lecia: But this doesn't look good.
Vyrn: Those sprites are only useful 'cause of the chocolate ingredients they drop, right? Why would you bother catching something like that?
Io: That jerk obviously wants to hog all the chocolate for themselves!
Rosetta: Valentine's Day is a special time for people to express their feelings. The culprit ought to be taught a harsh lesson for making a mess of things.
Enforcer: Lecia! Thank you for taking the time to come here personally!
Lecia: What's the situation?
Enforcer: A lone Draph man who appears to be a skyfarer has captured a large number of chocolate sprites and is currently holding them hostage.
Enforcer: He's shown no willingness to negotiate and is even using the hostages as shields. I'm afraid we're in a bit of a deadlock...
Lecia: I see... Understood. I'll take over from here.
Enforcer: Yes, ma'am! You have my deepest apologies for this blunder!
Lecia: So that's where we are. Could I ask you all to lend a hand?
Io: You bet! We won't let them ruin Valentine's Day for everyone!
Rosetta: Yes, there are people all across the skies waiting to receive delicious chocolate from their loved ones.
(Captain) and the crew agree to help bring justice to the spritenapper.

Not long after (Captain) and company make landfall on Chocolae Island...
Several crew members who had come to collect chocolate disembark to assess the situation.
Nicholas: We couldn't have picked a worse time to come, what with the chocolate sprites having been abducted and everything...
Robomi: As it stands, we will be unable to complete Marie's errand. We must lend our assistance as best we can.
Magisa: My chocolate was intended to be a surprise... but I suppose there's nothing for it.
Lecia: Thank you all for your willingness to help.
Lecia: I've received information regarding the location where the culprit was last sighted. Let's make our way there.
Nicholas: Huh? There's someone over there...
Wilnas: Hmm...

Wilnas: Why, if it isn't the singularity and crew! How fortuitous to encounter you in a place like this!
Wilnas: Hm? Why am I here? Valentine's Day is just around the corner, is it not?
Wilnas: I arrived to gather ingredients for this year's chocolate, only to find that the island is not as I remember it!
(Captain) explains the circumstances, prompting an unexpected response from Wilnas.
Wilnas: The spirits are being held captive, you say? But I believe I see one just over yonder!
Robomi: That is quite a surprise. Can we infer from this that some have yet to be captured?
Wilnas: Well, judging from what it's saying, that doesn't seem to be the case.
Lecia: Wait, "saying"? You can understand the language of chocolate sprites?
Wilnas: Yes, indeed! Doing so is a trivial matter!
Magisa: That's our Wilnas. So what exactly did the sprite say?
Wilnas: Well... Hmm... I don't know if I can successfully convey its words to mere mortals such as yourselves!
Wilnas: It would be detrimental to both parties if something were to get lost in translation...
Magisa: (Captain), is Petra on board the ship? I'm sure she'd have no trouble understanding it.
Wilnas: Oho! You are acquainted with a mortal who can comprehend the language of spirits? Then by all means, let's ask them!
(Captain) nods and hurries back to the ship to fetch Petra.
Chocolate Sprite: ...
Petra: Hmm... I see...
Petra: Thank you for your patience, everyone. Here is an overview of the situation...
Petra: The chocolate sprite is saying that its kin merely wish to protect the happiness of another.
Petra: This little one seems to have appeared before Wilnas to relay that.
Wilnas: It came specifically to speak to me? I was unaware of that—forgive me.
Nicholas: So you're trying to protect someone's happiness... Does that mean their happiness is being threatened somehow?
Nicholas: Say, do you think you could give us a little more detail? I'd be happy to help out if I can.
Chocolate Sprite: ...
Petra: "The words of those who know joy are worthy of trust. And you all seem different from the others we have encountered."
Petra: "However, we still have doubts that must be allayed. Therefore, please return with someone who knows true joy." That's what it said.
Nicholas: Huh? Someone who knows true joy... What kind of person is that exactly?
Petra: U-um... A-an individual who has "experienced love," apparently.
All Three: Love!
Unable to glean any further information from the chocolate sprite, a puzzled (Captain) and crew head back to the ship for the time being.
Upon their return, they discuss the situation with the other crew members.
Lowain: Somebody who's been in love, huh? Sounds like a job for us brosome bros. We live and breathe love, after all!
Elsam & Tomoi: Wahey!
Not wanting to rain on the trio's parade, (Captain) and company decide to select Lowain, Elsam, and Tomoi as their negotiators.

Elsam: So some bad boy Draph took over Chocolae Island? Sounds like a real potato-punk.
Tomoi: Think he's dangerous? What do we do if he comes at us fists flying?
Vyrn: That's why we're here with ya!
Lowain: Ooh... With (Captain) watching, we can't afford to botch things up.
Elsam: It'll be fine. We'll just use those mad peep skills we picked up to negotiate.
Elsam: (Lyri-rad's here, which means Yggy's watching too. I gotta show her my good side!)
Lowain: (Sammy's really into this. Tommy and I better play it cool to balance him out.)
Tomoi: (Gotcha! But even if we're all gung ho about it, can we really talk sense into some bad boy who's taken over a whole island?)
Though plagued with a sense of uneasiness, (Captain) and company continue on their way until suddenly Petra spots something.
Petra: Look, everyone! There's a Draph man with a chocolate sprite over there!
Lowain: Where at, Pet-rad?
Oh, that dude!
Elsam: Whatcha think? Betcha he's some macho Draph thug, right?
Vyrn: Well, I mean...
Lyria: He doesn't really look like a bad guy...

The crew turns to spot a man scratching his head apologetically with a sprite snuggled up beside him.
Tomoi: I dunno, I'm not really getting "helpless chocolate being bullied by raging potato" vibes from them. Kinda the opposite, honestly.
Lowain: Right? If anything, they look like they're totally hitting it off.
Pet-rad, can you happen to make out the chocolate's side of the story?
Petra: Umm... How should I put this? I can hear what the sprite is saying, but...
Petra: The contents are far too embarrassing to repeat in front of everyone!
Lowain: Sooo we're talkin' something lovey-dovey?

Though unable to go into detail, Petra's words indicate that the chocolate sprites are in fact making themselves scarce of their own volition.

Lowain: Wait, huh? Where'd this dude pull that out from?
Tomoi: He bowed so low he's practically folded in half...
You're gonna throw a hip outta socket like that, bro.

Elsam: Seems like this is kinda complicated, so why don't we start by getting the deets? Considering how he bent over double and all.

Tomoi: When the season comes around, a lot of requests that skyfarers get are related to chocostuffs.
Lowain: One of the dudes to take on a mission like that was our new brosome bud here (twenty-six years old, single, skyfarer).
Tomoi: Just like the others, he came to Chocolae Island on a request to hunt down ingredients.
Lowain: But he arrived to find a scene of pure hell.
Tomoi: Seems like some of the other skyfarers were capturing and bullying the poor choco sprites.
Lowain: Chocolae Island at that time was no chocolatey paradise—it was a legit battlefield.
Lowain: When he laid his eyes on that scene, something snapped. Suddenly he was livin' for love.
Man in Love: I don't care if it is your job—this is simply going too far! They're not monsters, you know!
Tomoi: He's seriously a bro among bros. He stood up to those punks and told 'em off.
Lowain: That's when it kicked off. A story of boy-meets-sprite...

(Captain) and company eat their chocolate in happy harmony, but the situation involving the chocolate sprites still hangs over their heads.
Lyria: So... what should we do now?
Petra: All that chocolate sprite wants is a quiet life with the man she loves.
Petra: And the other sprites are all hiding together in order to give them peace.
Lecia: I never would have imagined that the cause of this abnormality wasn't the skyfarer, but the sprites themselves...
Petra: The chocolate sprite wants the skyfarer to be happy, and he wants her to be happy as well.
Petra: This is indeed a complicated issue, since it's merely the result of each party caring about the other.
Lyria: I wish there was a way we could just let them be, but I guess that's not possible...
Magisa: There are people who need the ingredients for chocolate. Our skyfarer friend could very well be made out to be the bad guy.
Nicholas: So what in the skies should we do?

Alanaan: No need fer that. I'd come runnin' from halfway across the skies if (Captain) asked me to.
Alanaan: That being said, I can't say I'm not curious as to the reason behind all this. I assume you haven't asked me here just fer a party?
(Captain) fills Alanaan in on the events up to that point.
Alanaan: Oho, it sounds as though things around here have gotten rather interesting.
Alanaan: And I do have The Sun as my companion. Are you wantin' me to deepen my friendship with her or something?
Vyrn: Heh. Actually, we have another important part for you to play, Preacher Man!
Vyrn: Here's the thing—mumble, mumble...
Alanaan: I like the sound of that! I'll lend my assistance as much as ya need.
Lecia: We've finished the questioning.
Man in Love: I don't know how to thank you enough for your generous treatment, Lecia.
Lecia: I saw no indication that you were executing some grand scheme, so it's only natural. There's no need for such formality.

Elsam: Nah, it's all thanks to Chocolette. Her chocolate's just that delish to begin with!

Alanaan: Now then! We have a grand feast and an abundance of guests present. Not to mention an old priest.
Alanaan: Plus a man and his beloved, er... sprite? Either way, they're in love.
Alanaan: The stage is set. You'd have to be pretty oblivious not to see what's happenin' here, eh?
Man in Love: W-wait, don't tell me this is why you all proposed a party...
Alanaan: On that note, you must know what comes next. Do you vow to love each other until death do ya part?
Man in Love: O-of course! But Chocolette—

With a light leap, Chocolette dives into the man's chest.

The pair are suddenly showered in a flurry of flowers, courtesy of Yggdrasil.
At this, the crowd erupts in cheers.
Elsam: Whooo! Here's to the happy lovebirds!
Wilnas: Congratulations to you both! Ah, this is a magnificent day indeed!
Nicholas: It's nice being around to witness someone else's happy day too!
Robomi: Yes, I am in complete agreement. Allow me to partake in the merriment as well. Boom!
Wilnas: Oho! I cannot allow myself to be outshone by a child of man. Witness me: Wilnas of the Six Dragons! Let me enliven this celebration with vivid vermillion!
Io: Count me in too! Time to put on a show!
Inspired by Robomi's celebratory gunfire, Wilnas and Io paint the skies above with their flames and magic.
Sarunan: Hmph, this has turned into quite the noisy affair. Well, I suppose I should offer a small gift to the newlyweds as well.
Magisa: Are you sure you can afford to share your power with another spirit like that?
Sarunan: Don't underestimate Honey and me. Moreover, I was able to conserve a fair amount thanks to a certain witch and demon.
Magisa: Hehe... Consider it a token of apology from Moe. But using this sort of magic is nice once in a while. I hope those two live happily ever after.
Lyria: I wasn't sure how things would turn out at first, but it ended up being a wonderful Valentine's Day!
Nodding, (Captain) gazes out over the venue to take in the scene.
Surrounded by a sea of happily mingling mortals and non-mortals, the captain hopes such times will continue forever.
The party comes to an end, and Chocolae Island is reopened to the public.
Soon afterward, Chocolette's new groom is officially appointed as a live-in caretaker of Chocolae Island by the country of Wales.
He now lives a happy, peaceful life there together with the chocolate sprites.
